Any ideas for husbands lunches ? We have done wraps and sandwich galore … need something new ??
Chicken salad, mixed fruit/fruit salads, almost any salads as long as they stay cold enough I just put dressings on side or whatever sauces, deff switch up lunch meats and cheeses and how u do them u can also make homemade lunch ables get the items and pack including cold pizza ideas between bagels and crackers
Get a heated lunch pale ! So much easier for lunches , I would just make extra dinner and he takes that.
Hummus (there are multiple kinds including chocolate!) with pita chips, cut carrots, celery and/or zucchini, plus grape tomatoes and olives.
Thermos of soup or stew or a pasta dish, either to serve hot or cold. Cold soups include Vichyssoise, gazpacho, yogurty fruit soups of Scandinavia, consommé Madrilène, cream of avocado and other creamy soups. See if you can freeze them and have them thaw by lunch, or use gel or ice packs to keep them cold.
If he has access to a microwave, ready-packs of Indian food like Tasty Bite brand, and 90-second packs of rice with a bowl.
Cold cooked chicken strips with some kind of dip.
Brunch wrap: make an omelet. I like to put in salsa, spinach or other vegetables cut small, shredded carrots. Melt cheese on top and layer a flour tortilla, omelet, and cooked ham, sausage or bacon, then roll up. I freeze a bunch, then pop one in the microwave for 1-2 minutes to heat. It’s tasty hot or cold.
If he has access to a fridge:
Cottage cheese or yogurt.
Bagel, lox & veggie or chive cream cheese
Tuna salad (aseptic packs don’t need a can opener or refrigeration) with or without bread or crackers. I add diced water chestnuts to my tuna salad along with lemon juice, mayo, celery seed & chopped celery.
Chicken or turkey salad (great for leftover chicken or turkey bits). I add curry powder, celery seed, pecans, and either raisins or halved grapes, plus chopped celery and mayo to my chicken salad.
“Ants on a log”: celery sticks filled with peanut butter and raisins.
Always add a piece of fruit.
Food from the night before. A lunch box that is heated. Fruit and salad some days.
