If the kids are getting home from school at 3p and 4p is 8p too early of a bedtime ? Curious to know what you all think
I put my little ones to bed at 8pm so I don’t think it’s too early at all. It’s worked.for us for the longest time.
Depends on their age, I think
Age and wake up time is a big factor on time I think. My 4yr old goes to bed at 8:30 and wakes up at 7:20 , my 11 year olds go to bed at 9:30 and wake up 7:20 my 13yr old goes to bed at 10:30 Nd wakes up at 7
My kids begin cool down time in their rooms at 8:00. They are 11 and 13. They wake up at 6:00 am on school days. Are at school from 7:10 - 2:40. They get off the bus at 3:15. Homework is started at 3:45. Dinner between 5:00-6:00. Then showers, etc.
Mine are staggered 7.30 7.45 then older one about 9. But they watch film to go sleep
My boys are 6 and 7 and we let them go lay in bed to wind down whether it be watching their show, playing with toys in bed. Then between 815/830 depending om how busy their day was or how tired they are, we go up and turn the lights out and say goodnight. They wake up at 730 every morning. I got them an alarm clock with a bedtime and awake time alarm.
In bed with a movie or show by 8
Age of kid matters more. We often didn’t get my oldest home from daycare till nearly 5 and her bedtime was 7-8 depending on age. She gets home at about 4 from school and goes to bed between 8 and 9 depending on cheer practice. She’s 7.
My son gets home from school at 3pm and is in bed at 8pm but asleep at 830pm (30 minutes of tv before timer shuts off) and he is up at 6am
My son is 8 almost 9
I think it depends on age and what time they get up in the morning.
My 11 year old goes to bed at 8pm and most nights he wants to. He gets up early to catch the bus so he’s tired by that time. Kids need a lot of sleep
My kids are in bed by 8/830 during the week. They are 4,6,and 10. All in school and I have to be up by 5 for work
My son has always gone to bed at 9pm, he’s 4, but there is a recommended guideline on google.
It really depends on their ages and what time they are getting up. My elementary age kids go at 8 because they’re on the bus at 630 am (school starts at 720 am) my middle school child goes at 9 and is on the bus at 730 ( school starts at 8)
My 4 year old goes to bed at 7, my 8 year old goes to bed at 7.30 and my 9 year old goes to bed at 8, they all wake at 6.30 am
Depends on homework. If homework and chores take majority of that time, plus dinner and hygiene, I’ll give my kids an extra half hour of wind down time
My kinder goes to bed at 815-830
My son’s 9 he settles down at 9 puts a movie on usely sleep by 10 wakes up at 615-630 catches bus at 7 he gets home between 230-3
My 5yr old starts getting ready for bed around 7 (change into pajamas or bath if it’s bath night) and than in bed by 7:30/7:45
Ages and wake up time is important. My kids are 17, 15 and 13. So there might be a riot if I tried to send them to bed at 8 pm. My older 2 are in bed usually by 10 on school nights. And my youngest has a 9 pm bed time. But up until they hit about 12/13, they were in bed around 8ish.
When mine were little and in school. 8 was in bed with a book then 8:30 time to go to sleep. As they got older the time increased but never passed 10.
8p.m is a really good.time
Depends on the age of your child. An older child isn’t going to need as much sleep as a young child would. Mine are teenagers. They get home from school around 4. They do their chores, homework, have dinner and take showers if needed. Bedtime is 10:00.
We are in bed around 8-830. My boys are 10 and daughter is 7.
Mine are 8 and 10 yr olds bedtime 9 here for them
Well darn I wish my younger one would be tired this early!!! Hahah and my 16 year old ya…he doesn’t really have a bed time anymore…
My kiddos are 4 and 8 both go to school and get out at 3, we do bed time at 8 830. They get up at 6:30 in the morning and we leave at 7:30 for school
What time do they get up?? What are the ages? I think every child is different. My son never slept, as a baby, toddler, now as a teen… he is fine, healthy, active, good grades, athletic… my other needed 12 hours of sleep …
We usually don’t eat supper until 6, but depends on practices, games, work… sometimes we are in bed at 8 some nights it’s 11pm
Mine are 7 and 11, they go to bed at 8.30. They watch certain shows and they know when they are finished they are off to bed. The 7 year old is up any time between 4 and 7 because she has to see her pop off to work
4 & 6 year old get baths at 8PM and in bed at 8:30PM. High school age are old enough to know what they need to do.
That’s when our bedtime is.
No child needs to be up past 10 pm
My 11 year old goes to bed at 8:30
Absolutely not! Kids need that rest to start the next day. School is tiring then they play afterwards it makes for a long day!
10.5 home from daycare about 5,bed 730,usually fast asleep by 8 if not sooner ,up about 615/630. Doesn’t leave much time ,but he’s already yawning by 630/7pm
My husband gets home around 5 PM, so bedtime is 9 PM. He’s already at work when they get up for school, and this gives us more family time, before he and I spend time together, just the two of us.
My girls are 8&10 and go to bed at 9. Wake up at 7/7:30.
It depends on their age. Check the American academy of pediatrics guidelines for the number of hours they should be sleeping and work it out from there.
Depends on age… my daughter goes to bed at 8:30. She’s 7 this month and wakes at 5:45.
I have a 2 year old and 5 year old. Bed time is 8pm. Even with kindergarten. Both girls get up between 7am and 8am
My 8 year old goes to bed at 7pm on school nights and 8 on the weekends. He gets up at 5:30am during the week. If he doesn’t get enough sleep he is a jerk in the morning
