Has anyone seen the new Beetlejuice movie? Is it appropriate for an 8, almost 9 year old??

It’s for over 12 in the cinema. I took my 10 year old but he didn’t like it but he also doesn’t like anything scary of any kind of anything with blood and guts lol My 13 year old loved it.
My 10 y/o liked it, and was friendly enough for her

I’m glad I didn’t bring my 8 and 9 year olds. It wasn’t awful but there was definitely some inappropriate stuff

There are a handful of swear words but the kids love it

It really depends on your parenting style and your kid’s maturity level. I don’t think I would have let my 10 year old watch it. (At the movies, home may or may not be edited). But I was always very strict on what my kids watched. Many parents would let their kids watch it with no issues.
My 9 year old loved it. But she likes the creepy things.
I loved the 1st one as a kid & my kids have seen it. We will be watching the new one together to & they are 9 & 6
My 8 year old saw it… but my parenting style is a little relaxed

Nope. And it’s more graphic than the older one. And I won’t even let my daughter watch that one. Even though I did as a kid. Beetlejuice himself is just too vulgar. Don’t get me wrong they are my favs. But more for 12 year olds I think.
My 5 year old wasn’t a fan. She loves scary stuff and even she was like woah.
I mean the OG Beetlejuice had a strip club in it among other things so…
I watched it with my 5 and 10 year old. My best friend brought her 4 and 11 year old… I didn’t think it was that bad, just a little graphic, but it’s in a funny way
My 6 year old enjoyed the first one better. She’s glad she got to watch the new one in theater though.
Personally, I thought it was tame compared to the 1st
