Not sure if it’s normal but yes it hurts sometimes randomly.
Yes most likely scar tissue is what Ive read.
My last c-section was 14 years ago. Mine is still sensitive. I can’t wear any underwear or clothes that touches it.
My son is almost 8. I get sharp shooting pains in my scar area as well as itching. I also still have pain from my epidermal sight. My daughter is 9. I’ve asked drs. They shrug me off. I hope you get answers.
I still have issues with mine. My last c-section was in 1993. I’ve had 3
It’s more than likely scar tissue
Probably scar tissue. I have had 3 c-sections, oldest is 10 youngest is 4, my lower stomach is completely numb and has been since the first c-section. I would get it checked if you’re concerned.
I didnt have a c section but I believe even if u think it’s normal u should still have it checked… It’s always better to be safe then sorry hun…
My youngest is almost 17. She along with my other 3, were c-sections. So even after that many years, I still have pain on occasion. Sometimes from a cough or stretching.
I didn’t have c sections, but I did have my appendix out in 2004, they had to cut me instead of laparoscopic, and still all these years later my scar hurts to be pushed on in some spots, and some other spots are completely numb. I think it’s nerve damage, but like a lot of others, I recommend seeing a doctor as soon as it’s possible for you.
I didn’t have a C section with my kids but I do have a couple of really big stretch marks that still hurt from time to time. Don’t know if that’s similar or not.
I had a complete hysterectomy 25 years ago and the scar is still hard and hurts with pressure. The doctor explained that NERVES are cut and it is major surgery!!! Scars will never be the same as untouched tissue!! NEVER. Just part of life.
Nothing for me. 3 kids (17, 13 & 11) and 3 sections. I’ve never heard of it hurting etc years later. Interesting
I had my emergency c section just over 2 years ago and sometimes I get extremely bad shooting pains going through the scar so I brought some clotrimazole and it works wonders x
I had a c-section almost 2 years ago and I’ve only had pain a couple of times, not sure if it’s normal or not though
I have had 4 csections. My scar would get kinda sore and tender at times if I workout super hard or bend alot. But it generally stops being sore by the next day. This was about 1 years after my csection. (Now I have a 7 month old-csection) it doesn’t really hurt, but occasionally i will feel pain in my back.
I had a complete Hysterectomy in March 2017. I am never aware of my scar. I had 24 staples. Sorry for your pain.
Yes, it does. If lose, gain weight, body, pregnancy, hormone changes. Speaking from experience.
Mine hurts to this day , when I lean over something that catches me right along scar area, etc… And it’s been 24 years!!
I had a natural birth but had my left ovary and tube removed in 2000. There’s nothing on my left side yet it will hurt bad sometimes. It doesn’t make sense although I understand scar tissue pain. You are not alone
I have had 2 c sections, the last one three years ago, and can’t feel a good chunk of my skin near the incision area. Also if I stretch the wrong way it pulls the scar tissue and really really hurts. I have to be careful about sudden movements.
I did also 7 years later,…said it was scar tissue however when they did an ultrasound, they found a big cyst on my other side on my ovary.
Personally I have no pain from the scar…
Mine reopened on it’s own a cpl yrs down the road. Very scary. Good luck to u
Scar tissue. Very common. Don’t be alarmed. Make a doctor appointment when you can.
Yes, my youngest is 13 and I had 3 c-sections, it happens. But be on the safe side and make sure you don’t have adhesions. Those can cause problems
Mine is still itchy and my kid is 28
Scar tissue and nerve damage.
Yes, rub the scar with cocoa butter it helps break down the scar tissue faster and helps the healing.
My baby is now 16 months and still hurts and feels numb. I spoke to a mum who had her c section 17 years ago, she said hers is the same
It’s normal I still have pain with mine all the time
Yes it is… I’ve had 3 c sections n it’s still numb n hurts sometimes
I had pain for many years after my c section. All gone now. Maybe a pinched nerve.
I’m still a little numb 5 years later
That’s what I want to know I have c s pain
Yes… 10yrs later (4 sections) and i still have sensitivity/pain some days
My son is 27 and I still get a weird pain once in awhile
Mine is still numb after 10 years
Mine still hurts and has alot of numbness even 6 years later.
Its probably a Keloid Scar. They can be tender
Mine is still numb and hurts after years
My daughter still has a big tummy
All scars sometimes hurt years later
Well almost 17 years later I’ll have occasional pain however I keloid scar internally and externally so my doc warned me I’d have it for years to come
I didn’t have a C-section but I was cut hip to hip for a hysterectomy and where my scar is stays numb. Can’t feel a thing there. I’m sorry your going thru this and I hope they figure out how to help you
I’ve had 2 C-sections, 18 and 16 years ago, and a hysterectomy over 7 years ago. My scar still hurts. Not constant, but if my skin gets pulled, or my panties rub on it, I definitely remember it’s there.
Scar pain for 5+ years now. I just had a hysterectomy, and he said he detached tons of internal scar tissue. I also tried a physical therapist to loosen it, that sucked it was painful to stretch and work the scar, but gave long term relief, until my next C-section…
I had an adhesion and tons of scar tissue, but I had a horrible c section 12 years ago. I had a hysterectomy 7 months ago because of it. Mine scar hurt inside and I could feel the pulling. It was also quite hard to the touch. My gynecologist said that was the scar tissue and where the adhesion was. Mine was an extreme case though that stemmed from an infection from the original c section. I was hospitalized for the first month and then sent home with a wound vac and home nurse visits for months. That is why I had so much.
In my experience no pain is not normal and I’ve had 5 csections. My recent was 3 years ago and I have absolutely zero pain when I push on my scars.
Yes. Unfortunately I’m still numb from the surgery and I still have burning and sharp pain. I had my first c section in 2017 and now I’m expecting #3 and have horrible pain.
I’m 7 years post C section and I still have some irritation and numbness. It was painful for a few years though. I don’t think it has anything to do with size or weight.
I had 4 c section’s and my oldest is 22 and my youngest is 15 and I don’t have any pain and haven’t in years… But maybe u pulled some tissue or your stretching the section So it’s caused a inflammation or an infection… definitely see a Dr… everyone is definitely different …
Both my sons were sections, they’re 17 & 15, I still cnt lay on my stomach, especially hard surface, cuz it feels hard around my scars. It’s painful.
I had a c section type of incision and yes years later it can be extremely painful…I would feel alot of stretching and pulling…but it all comes from the scar tissue that formed there… I had to have 2 laporatomies to remove scar tissue as it had started to get attached to my colon…
3 years, also, yes I am on the bigger side, and yes I have the exact same issue. I don’t think it goes away tbh. It hurts more when I wear tight clothing I do know that
I’m the bigger woman is well and my youngest is 18 , I have a painful spot on my last scar I’m certain it’s because I tore a stitch inside about a week after he was born. It just causes one tender spot along my scar
No c section but have gone through surgeries with a large scar. I’m assuming the pain you feel is the nerve that was damaged during the process. Scars often hurt when your nerves are trying to repair themselves and most of the time they never fully recover and end up “miss firing” instead.
I’ve had 3 C-sections & 3 stomach surgery w/no pain after I healed up. I had alot of scar tissue & adhesions. December 2019 I had all the scar tissue & adhesion taken out, it was a mess. This time I did what the Dr said, I took it easy for a couple months…
No pain but it gets itchy every now & then?? And one side is still numb… my son was 3 in Jan.
I’ve had 3… first was 19 years ago, 15 then almost 11 years and yes it still is very sensitive, partially numb and never the same again. Outside you can barely see it but the last surgeon said I had a lot of adhesions. Felt like my insides were ripping when I walked for the first year after. All the things they tell you can go wrong no one every mention this lol!!
Some women have adhesions that a surgeon will go in and fix after a csection. My son is almost 4 and I still had major sensitivity to the touch or if I would cough/sneeze. I just had my daughter via csection and they cleaned up the adhesions! I have no sensitivity this time
Sounds like scar tissue. Add excess weight and gravity, it may be pulling the area downward and causing inflammation.
Scar tissue. I had 3 C-sections and the scar tissue caused me pain for years! I had never had insurance agree to pay for it. Finally I went to a plastic surgeon and paid out of pocket and had it removed. Best money ever spent.
I have had two cesarean sections (2010 emergency and 2013) and have the same issue of pain and pulling of the scar area.
I feel pulling on the scar pulls on my uterus to the outer parts- like it is all attached together.
I used to have an ex-partner and he would lift me up by my waist, because of my weight and “over hang” from the caesarean it would pull to the point I would be in tears and feel like someone had pulled everything from the outside “down there” up inside through my belly button.
Looking at the comments of the scar tissue and it possibly attaching to other internal organs, I have seen on my personal ultrasounds since my last Caesarean in 2013; the scar tissue- it is thick and bulky. I actually thought the surgeon had stitched everything together in one go. Seeing the comments about scar tissue forming and fusing onto another organ makes more sense now and what I saw on my ultrasounds.
Maybe get your Dr to get an ultrasound of your scar tissue to see what is happening as they can see through the layers of skin and scar tissue from the Caesarean if it fusing together? That could be a good start to your answers going from others experiences too. Definitely talk to your dr or gynaecologist about this.
My first and only c section was 28 years ago. At first it did hurt, but after time it has faded and now I have no pain or feeling here. You can pinch the area and I don’t feel it.
I had 2 c sections. My oldest is 30 and my youngest is 28. I still have pain when I cough or sneeze in the wrong position. It doesn’t hurt to touch, but does get irritated with heat rash, etc easily.
I get some pulling pain when I move quick which is weird as my lower tummy where cut is is numb still 4 years after … it could be internally like when u move but outer for me even if I pinch skin its numb
I had needle like pain frequently some time after the c section to which the dr told its normal bcus the new skin is forming to bind the scarred skin ,which is v natural, and as time went by pain vanished
My c section scars are 10 years old and I just got feeling back in that area and once a month I still have pain there .
I have occasional pain time to time i have had 3 c sections. My youngest is almost 5 and i get pain still. I have no scar tissue and its healed good you cant tell ive had them but still i get the pain
I have had two c-sections and a hysterectomy. All 3 scars in the same spot. My pain began about 8 yrs later. I put up with pain so bad I threw up. Back pain and in my ribs. Finally going to the doctors and had a ultrasound. I had hernias . 4 of them the first time. I had them repaired and a year later another one. My job consisted of heavy lifting so that had a lot to do with it. So don’t put up with unnecessary pain. Get it checked out.
My oldest son is 35 and my other done is 31 and my youngest 25 and I have pain where my C-section at I had some scar tissue move already 4 times in my life and it still hurts
My son is 21 and I still have some weird feelings… not pain so much but uncomfortable
Yup. Internal scar tissue that’s pulling. Have to have surgery to get it removed.
Had a emergency c section 38 years ago. Can’t wear pants with zippers or a belt. It rubs sores in it.
I’m not sure if this is normal but whenever I use bikini removal products right on my scar, it gets irritated. So I have to be careful there I had my c section almost 8 years ago.
Have you spoken to the MD that’s delivering the baby? I would tell him/her , perhaps he can have a plastic surgeon there to assist in the closure.
I’ve had 3 c sections my boys are 10,6,2 and I do get pain every once in awhile
I’ve had 2 C sections. No pain ever afterwards. You should probably see a doctor.
I have hysterectomy scar and mine itches… usually only at night🙄sometimes it can drive me insane!
My scar area is just numb. 5 years later.
I’m a big girl, not sure if that contributed or not. You’re not alone in this…
Yes I kept getting pain with mine for about 4 years after. X
It’s been 18 yrs for me and it still hurts all the time especially if I hit it on something
Not necessarily normal, and not necessarily related to the scar. See your doctor.
6yrs later an mine still hurts… if I cough or sneeze a certain way I will have shooting pains in mine.
Mine is if it is hit just right by accident. Super sensitive, and numbness still too. My son is 3 yrs old.
I had 3 csections my youngest is 14 and on occasion the scar hurts or itches. However if its worrying you talk to your doctor
I’ve heard of “keloid” scars which are pronounced- not sure if they are painful. With all the lasers and things available, I would think that can help!
I’ve had 2 c sections never any pain
If it hurts when you press on it…don’t press!!!
My son is 21 and I still have tender spots after 2 c sections
I’m still numb in some spots 8 years later
Had 3 Csections…sore until healed but no problem after or now 59 years later.
my youngest be 27" me 58" I still get some pain there
My baby is 22 and I still have pain on the scar and can’t stand for anyone or anything to touch it. So have to be careful where clothing hits.
A little pain and numbness with the scar!!!
