Is Easter weekend considered a long weekend. My kids go to their dads house every other weekend fri to Sunday but stay till Monday on long weekend so would it be Sunday or Monday?

Unless you guys are religious and put Easter Monday as a holiday then no its not considered a long weekend.
My kids go back to school on Monday, so they would def be home Sunday, I guess it depends on where u r from. If they are out of school monday then yes its a long weekend. If not then no. How do u not know thisā

My daughters school is off friday. Some might have monday off instead. So if they have school off then id assume a long weekand. Id always follow standard court visitation plans or if your court order is more specific then i would follow that
It should be in your guidelines,and whos ever holiday it is this year,it dont matter whos weekend it normally would be,that parent gets them from friday til sunday ,so one parent may get them 3 weekends in a row,or if its normally the parents weekend that has the easter holiday this year,then the weeekends will resume the same

I work with the school district and we are off Friday (Good Friday) - weekend. We return on Monday so yes, it is a 3 day weekendā¦ long weekend.

A lot of schools have off for Good Friday but are reopen Mondayā¦ so Friday is considered a holiday, that to me makes the weekend long, because itās still 3 days off from school. I would look at your parenting plan. We rotate holidays no matter what day they fall on but everyoneās plan is different.

Yes. Usually. Even non religious ppl use it as a 4 day weekend bc many places are closed at least 3 days. If school is out, usually the other parent gets spring break.
I really hope, unless thereās abuse, you encourage the extra timesā¦ Children need both their parents time and attention.
With our papers it was the return the night before they go back to school. So if ona holiday they didnāt have school on Monday they go back Monday night.

Well my sons school is off Friday and all next week. They are off Friday cause itās Good Friday. Technically I donāt think itās considered a long weekend unless you want to count Friday.

Not considered a long weekend unless not school Monday. We are doing my house to do Easter events with siblings until 4 dinner with dad and his family until 8 back home for bed and school next morning! He is going to be so exhausted and will come back fed! Thatās a win win in my book

Do you have a written court order? My court order includes all the details about long weekends and holidays so there is no confusion. Itās a long weekend for us but we alternate Easter and exchange kids at 2pm Easter day

Depends. We share holidays. So like if them kids are at my house, he can get them from 4p-8p and vise versa. But we usually never do that, we just work around what each other has planned but we used to have to do it that way. Your visitation should say something about holidays.
I say if they are off school and heās off work. Let them stayā¦my thoughts if you have to work on mondayā¦ a break for you not having to rush getting ready for work and getting kids ready to go to a sitter or school if they have school or wherever, etc. If he has to work let him doing that part of the morning parentingā¦

Is he school aged? If yes, itās only considered a long weekend if he has Monday off from school.

I try to split it down middle when they have vacation and sheās 11 so she tells me what she wants to do. And she goes every weekend unless we have plans I wouldnāt consider staying till Monday a long weekend if they have off for the week lol

Are your kids school age and if so, are they off school Monday? Iām in Maryland and have school age children. Theyāre on spring break starting today and they go back on Tuesday.
If theyāre not school age, then itās really up to the two of you if you want to make it a long weekend.

Depends on if there is school or not. I live in South Dakota and we donāt have school Friday to Monday, some years we also donāt have school Thursday or Tuesday depending on when Easter falls. So get for us yes it is a long weekend.

Iām in MD and my kids are off tomorrow and Monday for spring break. So, I guess? Idk if heās only supposed to normally get them Friday-Sunday. Iād say they should still come back to you on Sunday.
In my state Easter isnāt even considered one of the government holidays. The only reason my kids are out of school next week is because the dates are their typical spring break. I would discuss it with dad and see if you guys can work something out. Honestly tho if he only gets them two weekends a month I would give him the option of keeping them the extra day if he has off work

A lot of rudeness this morning. Ok so I am glad you do visitation I would actually text your ex and say hey itās Easter weekend child/children get out of school early today would you mind picking up early and then dropping off early for Easter? See if that works
Definitely clear communication through text is best so everyone has it in writing and there will be no arguing. If it is not in a court order already.
If your ex is like mineā¦and canāt spend 1 extra second (his choice)with his kidsā¦other than the every other weekend the court gave himā¦then Fri to Sunā¦

Itās not about is Easter weekend itās about what it says in the court papers about Easter. It should clearly state who gets Easter, what time is pick up for that day and when does that holiday end for that person. Always follow the court order

If they have school on Monday, I would not consider it a long weekend.
If they have school on Monday it wouldnāt be a long weekend. If theyāre on Spring Break, youāll have to hash that out.
