I am currently 14 weeks pregnant with my first and experiencing a lot of pain in my hips, is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this and what can I do to ease the pain?
Yes! They are spreading:rofl: UGH!
The hormone relaxin is one of the main culprits when it comes to hip pain, as it does exactly what the name suggests. It causes your joints and muscles to relax and loosen up, making room for the baby growing inside you.
I had hip pain with my fourth from around 25wks til delivery.
It’s from a hormone being released, relaxin. Its main purpose is to loosen the ligaments in preparation for delivery.
Yep! Check out a chiropractor who is experienced in the Webster technique for pregnant women.
Girl just want until your in your last trimester & the baby does karate on your hip bones and ribs! Lol I love being pregnant but oof it gets uncomfortable . Congrats on your first blessing
Sounds like you’re getting child bearing hips. Welcome to motherhood.
Definitely. I had hip pain from about 14 weeks until after my son was born. Your hips are spreading and carrying more weight than they are use to.
Your hips are spreading, so you have room for the baby.
Especially if youre small.
Normal but see a physio, helped me alot and I also wore a belt when I got further along
Acupuncture or a chiropractor can be amazing. Most insurance covers the chiropractor during pregnancy
It will only get worse through out your pregnancy
Do some leg stretches and hip stretches for a few minutes it will help it is round ligament pain it us totally normal
Maybe ask your doctor
Sleep laying on your side with a pillow between your legs at the knee…works like a charn
Very normal! Everything is moving around and being rearranged for your expanding belly/baby❤️
One of the worst parts. It’s totally normal. Your hips are widening for the growth of the baby.
Yes. I was miserable with both pregnancies. With my last pregnancy I actually got SPD so badly I wasn’t able to walk for days at a time. There were even times I wasn’t able to even adjust how I was laying without my husband physically moving me. Its just your hips widening.
Your hips are moving . If it is unbearable tell your Dr. If they say it’s normal prepare for a lot of pain in your 3rd trimester when the baby puts on weight
Our hips spread during pregnancy to prepare for the baby so yes it’s normal. You will experience it after the baby is born as well while ur hips go back to normal.
Its normal…hips and pelvis are spreading. Squatting helps to stretch it out and aleviate some of the discomfort.
Yes I’m 14 weeks tomorrow I’m dealing with the same thing.
Hips might be spreading. Normal
Could definitely be normal but always talk to ur doctor about concerns
The baby could be hitting your sciatic nerve a lot and your hips are beginning to widen. I had this a lot throughout my pregnancy with my first daughter and having it again with my second. Ask your doctor about how you can ease the pain. I always slept on a pillow at night and that helped.
My daughter rested on my sciatic nerve most of my pregnancy and it was excruciating. Felt great otherwise but when I sat for long periods when I got up I was in tears and could barely walk.
I recommend getting the book What To Expect When You Are Expecting. Written by two obstetrics nurses who are also moms. So useful during my pregnancies. My best friend gave a copy to me because it was so useful during her pregnancy.
Hip pain was my first symptom with my son. It can happen from the ligaments stretching and this can cause the pain. Feel free to ask ur doctor too tho. My son carried really low the whole pregnancy.
Never had this problem in neither of mine pregnancys. Talk to your Dr. Mine always told me if I get a headache which occurred alot for me they said Tylenol is ok to take for pain. Just 1 though
I am currently pregnant with my second and about 20 weeks I experienced the hip pains. Waist band works wonders especially if you have a job requiring to be on your feet most of the day.
Pain pressure urge to pre all the time. It is all natural but anything you feel is not normal talk to your doctor. Trust your gut feeling
Sit on a heat pad for an hour a day. I had the most excruciating pain in my left hip. Asked a retired ob/gym. That’s what he told me to do
I was told the pain is the muscles stretching to help prepare for when you give birth.
Possibly the sciatic nerve? Otherwise I’m sure it’s your body getting ready for baby.
I did it’s the muscles and ligaments stretching to accommodate baby and birth
Maternity belt will help with this. It gets worst in the 3rd trimester
Yes, all the muscles and ligaments are stretching… belly bands will help with the hip pain plus all the weight and pressure later on
Do u mean hip pain or outer pelvic pain a lot of people think their hips r near their waist
But eat healthy for you and the baby . And don’t starve yourself
Yes, that’s normal. Your pelvic region is changing to accommodate the little one, and your hips are literally spreading
I had hip pain during both of my pregnancies.
A maternity corset mite help. Speak to your doctor.
Yes it is. Do the pelvic rock to get the baby to turn off the nerve in you hip.
Comfortable clothes not tight. But close you feel pretty and comfortable in
Watch your weight and eat healthy. Watch salt in take . Drink plenty of fluids
well it was for me but i have a bad hip…
Speak to your doctor, it probably just the baby.
Take your prenatal vitamins
Talk to your health care provider!
Don’t guess. Call your GYN ofc to see if you need an appt.
Make sure you drink enough water.
Get on hands and knees like crawling position and kinda rock back and forth. Uterus is growing
Yes do the exercise to strengthen your pelvic area. Your labor will be in your lower back when time comes . They have special bands now days for young mother’s to wear to support the lower back area . But do your exercise to strengthen and improve your lower back area
I had a lot of pain in my hips and lower back during my 2nd pregnancy. I ended up going to the chiropractor and she said one hip was rotated forward and the other one was rotated backward. After the adjustment it was much better.
Continues forever !!
Depends how small you are as well, so please be careful. My sisters hips actually dislocated closer to her due date. So make sure you bring it up at your next visit.
Had a lot of this with my last child. Part of it is because your bones are softening so you can push that baby out easier. It was recommended to me to elevate my hips whenever possible. Lots of pillows or get yourself a wedge pillow. Also get yourself a body pillow. I used to push that between my legs and it helped with the pain at night. But all in all its kind of a grin and bear it. During the end of your pregnancy they only allow you to take Tylenol and for me that’s like drinking water. I have a high pain tolerance so it was not very effective. I had a wonderful doggy at the time who was very sympathetic and would stay by my side and help me balance and use him as a support to get up and even whine if I yelped in pain. That made things at least a little easier. I’d also be checking with my doc and see if they have any other suggestions.
Yes I have had pains this pregnancy and it’s due to hormones and body changing to accommodate baby did lots of googling online lol
Did you put on a lot weight already?
Have a healthy and safe pregnancy. And a beautiful and healthy baby . Congratulations
