Is it normal for a sick child to smell like sulfur?

Anyone’s kiddo ever been ill and it smells of rotten eggs/sulphur?I don’t think food poisoning because he didn’t get sick until 10 hours later…My poor bug.

Laura Brown not just us lol swear ppl tell me i imagine it

I get it after eating popcorn. Its gas.

Every time I get gastro I smell like that

My dad had “sulfer” burps and gas when his appendix was about to burst

I get it even now as an adult

Acetone smelling breath could be indicative of diabetes. Definitely worth mentioning to MD

My brother always smelled rotten when he was sick but it was always the worst when he had a sinus infection. Didn’t matter if he had just showered he still had the smell. :woman_shrugging:t2:

What does the pediatrician say?

If it’s what I’ve gotten a few times in my adult life it’s called “sulfer burps” and it is caused by bad dairy.

It’s normal. It’s caused by gas in the tummy.

Sulfur burps. Bile back up. I drink hot coffee. Hold off on cheese and peanut butter.

Other than being sick my kids smelled like this from sticking cotton in their nose

Yes my daughter has that same smell when she’s sick. I’m not sure why.

Being actually sick along with this. If fever. Watch out for appendicitis.
