Is it normal to feel your IUD and sometimes not?

Wait, are you feeling the actual IUD or the string? When I had an iud I could feel the string but not the actual IUD.

What do you mean by feel? The strings should be the only part you can feel if you’re looking for them. Other than that no you should not be able to feel it
