Breastfeeding mammas! I have a question. I’ve only had one pierod since breastfeeding . Is this normal? Also how did you know do you might be possibly pregnant while breastfeeding?

I’m 9 months in & still no last time. It can prolong it.
Having irregular periods or no periods while breastfeeding is normal. I wouldn’t use breastfeeding as a form of contraceptive though. That’s why my girls are less than a year apart lol and I just got my normal pregnancy symptoms so I took a pregnancy test.

I didn’t get a period back while breastfeeding until just before 2 years post partum. It’s entirely possible for it to alter your cycles as well. 
Sometimes your period completely stops while breastfeeding. It happened to me w all 3 of my babies
Just something to think about is whether you actually track your period… If not it may not actually be irregular… My cycle used to average like 35ish days which based on when it would show up would see irregular but once tracked it was regular just not on a 28 day schedule they are usually based on… But other than that yes hormones and things while breastfeeding can absolutely affect your period
So breastfeeding doesn’t prevent pregnancy
