Is it normal to get leg pain when you have the flu? My 8 year old has the flu and keeps complaining his legs hurt…when should I be concerned about this?

My body aches bad when I have the flu. That’s also the age I experienced growing pains! I still remember it. Could be the flu or both, either way make sure to hydrate him as much as possible!
My 11 yr old had the flu about 3 months ago. His whole body hurt. He still complains of body pain today. They said they last a while.
Could be muscle cramping from dehydration. Try to get her to drink water and add a magnesium supplement if she’s not already taking one. Epsom salt baths will help too…

Yes a warm bath will help.
Yes, my son is almost 8. He had the flu a few weeks ago & woke up unable to walk. We panicked & brought him to the ER. They called it viral Myositis, effects from the flu. It effects boys between the ages 5-8 the most
