Is it normal to poop while giving birth?

Has anyone let out a :poop: while giving natural birth? How did you know/when did you find out? I’m a nervous wreck that I’m gonna :poop: while pushing my baby out!

Trust me. You will not have a care in the world if you do or don’t. And there are more bodily fluids that the nurses and drs won’t care either lol

Nope! But with my second I did throw up EVERY single time they told me to push😭

Most everyone does hun. It’s a part of pushing. You won’t even know you did it and the doctors could care less!

I did and honestly with the epidural it’s hard not to when your pushing they didn’t believe me when I said I need to push so I got a extra shot of epidural and I couldn’t move my lower half…I had my son at 214 that didn’t wear off till almost 10pm

I did with my second. Had no idea until my now husband told me I did. It was the least of my worries, I just wanted her out and in my arms. Relax and you’ll be fine momma

If you do they won’t say anything they just wipe it and keep going don’t worry momma you won’t even think about it while you’re pushing!

Happens all the time! And it tells you are pushing with the right muscels.

I did not with either of mine. But my first one my girl :poop: on the Dr when she came out :joy:

You won’t care then. I promise lol.

The Drs expect it so don’t be nervous it happens alot

No but with my second baby I really thought I was going to I was almost in tears and kept saying “I’m going to poop omg I cant hold it” really making a scene for a while and my doc finally said that’s not poop that pressure is your baby and I calmed down :joy::joy: it was so embarrassing!

2 babies, didn’t do it
One with epidural one without

When you’re in the middle of pushing that baby out you won’t care if you poop at least I didn’t

Yes on two of my 3 births…no big deal, it all goes right into the same waste apron and they help keep you clean in the process  piece of cake…you got this!!

I did :joy: it was me that made the big fuss, mw was like don’t worry I was motified :joy::woman_facepalming:t3:

It is common and they see it all day everyday. I didn’t with any of my kids but, it’s alot of pressure down there.

I think we all do. Honestly, that baby can’t be pushed out if you’re trying to hold “it” in. Also, in that moment, it’s the last thing you’ll be thinking about lol. They clean it up so fast you don’t even know if it happened

Haha I did multiple times . I knew every time and asked them if I did they told me no and wiped it up :joy::joy: they are so use to it

I believe it happens! I didn’t.

It happens and you dont even notice. The nurses will just quickely and nonchalantly move it to the side or something

I promise we don’t care and expect it to happen! (Nurses) I tell every mom to please not worry about it, no one bats an eye at the poop I promise!

Its totally normal. Same muscle group. Don’t worry about it lol

I didn’t, but only because I’d spent the day before throwing up and on the toilet, my body had nothing left by the time I had her :joy: xx

I did, lol. and really didnt care cuz my baby was coming lol:joy::joy::joy:

Lmao yes. The whole time I was in labour and then while birthing. It was super annoying. But you won’t be able to help it anyways so who cares!!!

Trust me, it’ll be the last thing on your mind when you’re in labor

Yeah I did in 3 out of 6 lol . But they don’t care just wipe it away and carry on x

I was at least passing a lot of gas, I know that  you have no control, and they know that. You probably won’t even know because you’ll be focused on the pain :rofl:

Thankfully i didnt either time

Try to poop during the very beginning, and if they let you, try in the middle. During my first birth they wouldnt let me get out of bed. But my second birth was at home- so I got to walk around until she was born. Dont eat corn. LOL my midwife said lots of ladies poop while in labor. It’s natural, it happens, and she doesnt remember most of them. Pretty much the one or two that definitely ate corn prior.:joy: good luck mama!

I knew i was when i was pushing but i dont care. The nurses didnt say anything or make it weird they just cleaned me up between pushes

They used to clean u out yrs ago so that would not happen

It happens to almost every one. The doctors and nurses do not tell you that it happened. You will.never even know!

I follow this page because I’m a single dad. I started following to read and learn so I could be a better dad to my son. Furthermore, I have learned that I have never been more grateful to be the proud owner of a set of testicles in my life. Hat’s off to you ladies. I don’t know how some women don’t feel more empowered just because they are female. Lol.

Its actually fairly common. I had a csextion but underneath my bed there was a pink bag im guessing it would go in there. Alot of the time the nurses will clean it up before you even realize it.

No one is going to tell you. They’re just gonna clean you and you’ll be more interested in baby anyway😂 good luck mama

I didn’t know I did with all 3 of mine til they were all like 2 :joy:

I luckily didn’t have that problem with my first, but I’m pregnant again and hoping it doesn’t happen to me this time either!

When it’s happening, you won’t even care. But you can always ask :woman_shrugging: that’s the first thing I said after I had my son! Lol

I did with baby #3. They nurse just reached up and wiped it away, changed gloves and went right back to assisting. They’ve seen it before and they’ll see it again. Don’t stress.

It happens with almost everyone and the doctors and nurses won’t tell you. I didn’t like the doctor that was on-call the day my water broke with my second. When he left the room I told my boyfriend I’m pushing hard enough to shoot the poop in his face. I wasn’t very successful but it helped delivering go faster. They put my IV in at 10am and my son was delivered at 316pm.

When I was packing my bags on the list they had the fleet enema but didn’t use it, but for my daughter they gave me it cleaned me out and about 2 hrs later she was delivered, but I was starving afterwards

Hahah. Girl I was so nervous of that happening and I did with both my kids :joy: my husband told me lol but it’s natural! My grandma said “back in my day they used to give you a suppository to get it all out before you started pushing” hahah thank god they don’t do that anymore!

That was my worst fear😂

The nurse had told me once and with one of my other the doctir said he made s bowel movement while still in me i was like what but to be honest my 1st time in labor i really wasnt gocud on the fact im gone poop bc the main thing i remember most is the contractions but the nurse or doctor will clean you i do remember that happen i was so embarrsss but hey wht could i do

I did. I knew I was going to. No big deal. It won’t be the first time and it won’t be the last time.

OP:

I’m more so worried about being embarrassed to my fiancée, mom and mother in law who are going to be in the delivery room  but I didn’t know vomiting was a thing during labor?!?! Oh man! Lol

I didnt poop but I straight up farted in the doctors face while pushing and I must’ve looked so embarrassed because before I could say anything he looked at me and went “just go with it” :joy::woman_facepalming:t2:

i threw up cause they gave me morphine for pain but then i got the epidural and my son was got an hour and a half later

I honestly never asked if I did or not with all 3 of my vaginal births haha I remember being worried but also read that normally your body will clean its self out before delivery

Just push. Fluids and stuff is everywhere. Poop is the least of your worries. Lol

My doctor always orders an enema for his moms before labor so luckily I was in the clear lol!!

The Drs nurses are used to it and deal with it quickly and you may not even know about it but it is normal since that’s where all the pressure is

Even if you do it’s normal.
I fully expect to poop when I push my son out in August lol

:joy: Ahh…the biggest fear we all had as first time expectant mommies. Lol. It rarely happens but rest assured the nurses are prepared to clean up right away and not fall over dead from bewilderment!! You’ll be fine!

I pooped a little right before I had my son, I asked my mom if I was pooping or the baby and she told me. :sob::joy: and they just wiped it away.

I did, and I knew because I could feel it. My husband and my mom were there. I made a joke out of it “clean up on aisle…” whatever room number I was in. No one cares that you pooped. The nurses just clean it up and everyone keeps going.

I asked 20 times if I shit until they eventually gave me a mirror and put a towel over my booty so I wouldn’t freak out. I farted a few times :joy:

It’s all so gross, you won’t care who you poop on

Yep! I puked a lot while in labor with my first but not with my second

It’s ok, sometimes it happens, it’s no big deal. Usually it’s just a tiny amount.

I pooped. It’s normal. I didn’t know until I asked my husband a few hours later.

I did with both. I didn’t know until my husband told me. He thinks its funny

Happens all the time ; why women used to get enemas halfway through labor

It’s a pretty routine part of labor, apparently. My Husband asked about it ahead of time and said something about making a joke. I told him he’d better not, I was already self conscious enough about it.

I had a home birth, no drugs. I didn’t even know it was happening, but my midwife said “everything is fine, I’m just creating a sanitary barrier for the baby” as she dealt with things and I was like, “oh… next contraction!!” I thought I would be self conscious and leave my clothes on as well. I was butt naked for the entire hour I pushed, again, couldn’t care less. I was too warm with clothes on and had more important things to worry about. :joy::joy::joy:

U going to poop but it’s ok no-one cares

If you’ve eaten anything 6-8 hours before actively pushing, you’re gonna poop, lol. Just know it. Also just know it’s completely normal and the doctors and nurses handle it professionally. They won’t tell you that you did it, as what is the point in embarrassing someone? You’re pushing with all your might, what else can happen but that?

I did with my first, she came out so fast, but it is normal… the nurse will wipe it as it comes out to keep you clean. I was nervous about it too but my fiancé and I laugh about it now lol

I had a c-section so I wouldn’t know… :grimacing:

I didn’t feel anything. I barely even remember pushing him out. I do remember looking into the doctors glasses and regretted it

They don’t care they are used to it

I know I pooped. But with everything else the doctor just folds it up with the rest of the gunk, moves it on and brings out new “bedding”. if it’s a professional doctor and staff you’ll never know. If you’re concerned, when you think you’re in labor, make sure you go potty.

I did no biggy. Just means your pushing wrong. You just got to push from muscles from your vagine not like if you were taking a crap

Happened to me with my first. But, it’s natural… no need to be scared about it. Having a baby is messy and beautiful and an experience that changes you forever into a better person…A MOMMY:heart::heart::heart::heart::heart:

I had c sections for both of mine because of risks to both myself and my babies, so I cant comment on that part. But a friend said of her labours “leave your dignity at the door and pick it up on the way out.”

Like a poop or a fart? Mine was a natural birth, but hadn’t eaten much that day. Didn’t happen to me. I may have peed tho don’t know. I was to busy following instructions.

If you worry about it too much, it’ll effect your pushing. It felt like I was going to but I didn’t care at that point and didn’t actually end up doing it. They’ve seen it before and they’ve seen worse so try not to stress about it.

Don’t THEY give ya a enema

I did but i didn’t know! my fiancé told me i did. i looked at him like wtf?? when? i didn’t even realize
