Is it normal to spot in early pregnancy?

Is it normal to have light pink/light brown spotting at almost 6 weeks pregnant?? Woke up this morning with cramping on my left side and the very light spotting. I have never had spotting with my previous pregnancies so this is new to me. Do I need to get checked by my doctor or is it normal??

i would go get checked by a doctor. when anything is off, or you’re unsure in pregnancy mostly, go see your doctor! better safe than sorry mama!

With my youngest I was told I had blood in the placenta on my ultrasounds and spotted allot was so worried! Doctors couldn’t guarantee and any reassurance so I would watch my hcg levels and keep all my doc appts :worried: but he is a healthy boy all was fine. Can be normal don’t stress if you are worried always kick your feet up and relax! Just worry if you get a heavy bleeding like a period or clots.

Yeah it definitely can be normal

I spotted in all 3 pregnancy’s, two were born healthy, one was a missed miscarriage, every pregnancy is completely different. Keep going to get checked and push for having an early scan. All the best xx

I had spotting my entire pregnancy…I now have a healthy 3 year old 🫶🏻

I had implantation bleeding at 4/5 weeks with my second. Went on to have a healthy problem free pregnancy

I had spotting at 5 weeks then 9 weeks

Normal and I’m a mom to quite a few

Yes I did with one of my kids. Stressed me out.

Mom of 3 healthy kiddos. Totally normal! Don’t panic

Yes, I spotted quite a bit until I was past the 9 week mark

Definitely normal, did with my last 2. They were born healthy. 1 is 6 years old the other is 12 weeks.

i’ve had bleeding like this with both my pregnancies and both have been healthy x

It’s normal!!! I spotted for the first two months of my pregnancy, I got all the symptoms of having my period and the feeling that I was bleeding all the time

I did with mine too at that early, it’s normal.

I had spotting at 8 weeks and it turned out to be ectopic pregnancy. Listen to your ob/gyn or if you are concerned go to ER and get early early ultrasound.

Could be implantation bleeding

I say dont worry about it unless your doctor tell you! I had the same thing but had sub chronic hematoma. Its all better now but I had bleeding and cramping. I was so worried and googled all possible outcomes. It made me feel so unease. Listen to your doc and keep an eye out for cramps and blood although im 5 months pregnant and get cramps still.

Pretty normal for me just keep a eye out for cramping.

Yes, I spotted until I was 3 months pregnant with both my pregnancies. If it gets worse contact your Dr.

If this is your second pregnancy and you have a negative blood type you need to go in for a Rhogam shot within 72 hours!

I spotted with my first. Don’t be afraid to contact your doctor with any and all concerns. But it can be normal. Congratulations mama. :two_hearts:🩵

Sounds like implantation bleeding

Personally I would have any bleeding no matter how light it is checked! I started spotting at 8 weeks and within 24 hours I had lost my baby. It CAN be normal, however in some cases it can also be something else

It’s not normal. It can be common and only your doctor can confirm if it is actually ok. You would need an ultrasound to confirm the baby is ok. Ask your Dr for HCG blood work.

Google can answer most of the questions posted any more…

Yes it’s completely normal, as long as it’s not bright red.

Its normal its implantation bleeding

Sounds like implantation bleeding I had it before and confused it for my period only to realize i was preggo lol

I had spotting with all 3 of my pregnancies and had 3 full term healthy pregnancies. Try not to stress and like your doctor said watch for cramping. Also watch for it being more than just when you wipe. My doctor told me to wear a panty liner so it’s easier to see how much and the color. Most importantly try your best not to stress.

I bleed a lot with my first around week 5. They said it was a subchorionic hematoma (bleeding under one of the membranes that surrounds the embryo inside the uterus.)

It lasted a couple weeks, and he was full term and completely healthy.

With my second I spotted a little later in the pregnancy and I had partial placenta previa. She is also completely healthy

Yeah spotted and light cramping implantation don’t panic yourself try to relax enjoy your pregnancy xx

I had spotting when I was pregnant had a lot of blood loss once when I went to the toilet thought I had miscarried and I was actually pregnant with twins. Have you had a scan to determine everything is OK?

Yes it’s definitely normal. As long as it’s not dark (i think) and just mild spotting its okay. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I was spotting at the beginning and the dr gave me medicine to stop it. Throughout my pregnancy I was spotting here and there still and I just delivered my baby on the 8th and I had a ruptured placenta and I was bleeding a lot it was all blood my water didn’t break. I’m not trying to scare you but it’s something to keep an eye out for

Depends how long and if it continues.
Could also be a sign of an infection or UTI. I would go to the ER If you’re worried, or if you’re comfortable waiting schedule an appointment Monday

I’m currently actually having the same issue but they said it’s normal. I’ve had two miscarriages, one being recent and baby didn’t grow past 6 weeks but I’m currently 7 weeks and going strong. I just day pray and keep track of your symptoms and if it gets heavier go to the ER right away. Other than that take it easy and be easy on yourself yourself.
