Is it possible to be pregnant 20 years after your tubes being tied?

Hello, my period is late, but my tubes were tied 20 years ago. Is it possible to be pregnant? I did get pregnant three times after tying my tubes, one miscarriage, and two ectopics. Then my husband had a vasectomy.

A tubal ligation, combined with a vasectomy, makes the odds very low for you to be pregnant. I would agree with others that you might be in early menopause. See your doctor to be sure.

I have had my tubes cut and tied for 26 yrs no babies

1 in about 200 women get pregnant with their tubes tied
And 1 in 1000 with a vasectomy so it is possible

My aunt got pregnant 16 years after tubes was tied.

I got pregnant with my youngest 3 years after getting my tubes tied he turns 4 in February got a hysterectomy last year because all 5 of my children were also birth control babies 1st was the pill and condom, 2nd was depo shot, my twins were nuva ring/condom babies and my last was a tubes tied baby so I wanted to make damn sure that this time around no more babies were going to pop out this hoooha

Normally, I’d say there’s a possibility, but after 20 years and your husband also having a vasectomy I would think you’re pre menopausal.

When you become pre menopausal, your periods may lessen or completely stop before menopause.

Go see your primary care physician. There could be many things causing your period to be late.

You could be starting the change of life

Iv had mine done almost 13 years ago… Doc says it’s a 0.01% chance of falling pregnant

Can we ask how old you are? 20 yrs ago your tubes were tied… this could change how I answer… were u in your 20s? 30s? Im leaning towards your in menopause. Some women experience it even in their 40s.
If you are younger, I mean it could be possible… very very slim but possible.

This is definitely a question for a doctor and not social media.

Well who you pregnant to then

A pregnancy test would answer that

Anything is possible, but menopause seeks up on you. I had several missed periods when I started perimenopause. But I was not pregnant. Just my body going through the motions of getting older. Over the past year, they’ve been more consistent, but I know that can change. But I would definitely call your doctor and get a test, wouldn’t hurt. And get some labs done to check your hormones.

Yes it is I had mine done for 5 years. Then got pregnant

Yes it happen to me I was 45 so only and had then done when I was 29 .
It was called a fiscula not sure about spelling .
Its a hole were the sperm has managed to find and make it happen .
Do reg pregnancy tests i did one and it was negative. Went in for surgery and lost baby at around 12 weeks .
Fortunately I didnot know till I lost the baby .
Good luck :grin::heart:

I did 3 years later after having mine done had her 3 months too early but she is a beautiful healthy 14 year old now

it depends on the symptoms and the age of that person. After 30? Is it just a missed period or more… Any other symptoms of pregnancy? Nausea? Or more of the symptoms of menopause? Its really hard to answer that question without a doctors input and blood work.

I had a family friend have a baby after her tubes got tied so yep.

Go see your doctor. There’s many reasons your period could be late

No you can’t be pregnant if your husband had a vasectomy… unless your cheating on your husband…

If your husband is the only partner you have (no judgment) then you shouldn’t be able to get pregnant because he had a vasectomy regardless of if your tubes are tied or not

I got mine don’t an ain’t no more babies at all

Possible? Absolutely… Probable? I mean chances r slim…

At what age do most women experience menopause?

I mean how old were you 20 years ago? Any hot flashes or extra angry mood swings?

Anything is possible. I have a girlfriend we called TC back in the day her name is Tiara and her mom had five boys okay and then come to the conclusion that she was not going to have a baby girl. So she got hurt tubes cut tied and burned 15 years later she got pregnant with a baby girl my friend tiara!!! also another thing when you get your tubes tied and you are on Google when you’re doing research and you’re reading about it and you’re finding things out about it it states that your tubes can grow back that it is inside of your body and it is meant to be a part of your body so you’re taking a chance of it growing back. And I was like you know I had a girlfriend years ago who has a brother and he had his tonsils taken out and they came back twice. So a total of three times he had his tonsils took out! so I wouldn’t doubt your tubes being able to grow back together because it is supposed to be a part of your body. Which is something that I always think about because I’ve had my tubes tied for nearly 11 years.

Simple answer is yes. The clip may become “undone” and if he didn’t go back for his follow up after his procedure it may not have taken.

Yes there is a group on Facebook you can follow

Yep see a doctor because menopause hits and has people thinking pregnant. The others are right can start as early as in your 40’s.

If your tubes have been tied for 20 years and your husband has had a vasectomy (provided you havent been with anyone else) it is extremely unlikely that you are pregnant.

You can take a test for peace of mind, but I’d hazard that something else is causing your period to be delayed.
-Stress, exercise changes, diet changes can all potentially delay a period.
-hormone changes and hormone imbalances can also delay a period. This unfortunately can also include menopause, you had your tubes tied 20 years ago…you didnt mention your age, but I’d guess late 30s early 40s and menopause or pre-menopause has been known to happen that early.

The best thing you can do for yourself, is to contact your primary care physician.

Yes, my stepmother got pregnant almost 18 years after having hers cut and burned. That was 35 years ago.

If you had your tubes tied and still got pregnant your procedure was not correct.
They actually are supposed to remove a section of the tube.
But if your husband also had a vasectomy and you still got pregnant, some one had it in for him!

Sydneé Blake Stewart that’s crazy

Since you didn’t give your age but it’s been 20 years since procedure, you might be entering menopause.

Yes, I have an uncle that’s 10 months older than me.

It can happen my uncle was the 5th child (surprise/miracle) after both my gma got tied and gpa got fixed. I think it actually caused their divorce I’m not sure. I jus was like wowwww when my mom told me lol (bk in the 60/70s)

See your doctor. Sometimes Mother Nature likes to fix itself and there have been cases of women whose tubes fixed themselves, and men whose vasectomy fixed itself (it’s rare, but it has happened, my grandparents had this happen to them, they had twins 14 years after the procedures and being told not to have more children). There is also a possibility of premenopause or menopause. Or it could be something else entirely. The only one that could give you a real answer is your doctor.

Take a pregnancy test. Call your doctor regardless of result. I was pre- menopausal in my 30’s. Missing a period every now & then was because of that. Maybe also have husband’s sperm count tested again also.

Double Ectopic, tubes tied and vasectomy? Wow? Maybe pre menopause? You should see s doctor before getting your hopes up.

A vasectomy is not permanent. A friend of mines husband’s came undone after 7 years. They now have a 6 yr old
