Is it weird to gift my daughters teacher wine?

Would it be weird to give my daughters preschool teacher wine and a little gift for Christmas?

Giving a gift is lovely. Check she drinks alcohol first though as I don’t and whilst I love receiving gifts, wine was always something I dreaded getting.

Yes. You don’t know if she drinks. Or used to and is in AA. Gift card is safer.

As long as you make sure they are not an alcoholic, :joy: other than that I would love to get wine. Especially if I was are around 15+ kids all day. :joy:

I would make sure she consumes alcohol first, if she doesn’t give her a giftcard to amazon or a visa

I am a teacher and have been gifted wine and wine glasses before but from parents who have known me for years. I don’t find it weird. I get lots of coffee cups, agendas and calendars so recieving something different is nice.

I wouldn’t gift wine- you don’t know if she takes medication,
Mental illness, addiction, etc in her family/herself

I’m doing a big cute coffee mug with a gift card & candy inside

Kind of inappropriate if you ask me…maybe choose a candle instead

You are soooo kind . Just make sure she drinks wine / many of us don’t . If she drinks it she will love it and any gift is most welcome I am sure ! They also love gift cards to chick filet etc . Etc .

Wine is always a great idea. f she doesn’t drink she will probably keep it for guest over the holidays or regift it. Still a win for her.

With a card that’s says I know my child is the reason you drink

Nope and if it is I’ve been doing it for 13 years I get a gift bag with a candle small box of chocs and a bottle of wine xx

Slightly inappropriate as you don’t know if she deals with addiction in her family or takes medication.

If you know she likes wine, no, it’s not weird. We went to Germany and brought German beer back for my daughter’s coaches and my son’s therapists. If you’re going to give something, might as well make it something they will enjoy.

I once gifted an old co-worker wine and I found out after he was a recovering alcoholic. I never gift wine unless someone asks for it now.

It might be better to get a wine glass and put a gift card to somewhere like a liquor and snack store in it. Unless you can give it to her outside of school. I would check school rules and also make sure the teacher drinks wine if you do that specifically. But nothing wrong with the idea at all.

Definitely weird
Just give the teacher a card with a $5 scratchy

I’m always a little weary of gifting alcohol unless I know the person drinks. You never know if someone is in recovery or not.

I think of that as a more personal gift bc everyone has a different taste in what they like; I like the idea of a nice wine glass with a gift card to target or Aldi where they can choose what they like and can get whatever snack they like to pair with it

No not weird at all. I was a preschool teacher for many years. Those gifts are nice to take home.

No. It wouldn’t. I am a preschool teacher! Sweet moscato, please.

I have done it before with a candle but most of the teachers at our school drink

Nope she is probably going to appreciate it lol

It’s not weird but at the same time I never give alcohol as a gift unless I know for sure that person drinks. Alot of people are sober. Probably a safer bet getting her a fancy coffee blend.

I never ever buy alcohol for someone else unless I know them really really well .

If she teaches preK, she DEFINITELY needs the wine!!

Make sure she drinks first

Gift card for wine would be better

i would not send that to school unless u personally give to teacher after school or give a gift card for something like that. it might get teacher in trouble sending to school during school hrs.they would have to hide it.

One of my best friends was both of my girls kindergarten teacher. And for every holiday we bought gifts for teachers I got her a bottle of Malibu because I know my kids :joy: now I just randomly hide a bottle in her car because kindergarten is hard :joy:
