Face wash for kids… my 5yo seems to get blackheads or little acne bumps often. I have her wash her face with soap, but I feel it doesn’t work well enough and drys out her skin too much. Are kids face wash a thing? Does anyone have any recommendations?
I would google/ youtube how to make a children’s natural face wash. Don’t try chemicals in store bought stuff.
You can try an apple cider toner or a weekly mask. My daughter loved doing weekly face masks with me at that age.
I would mix witch hazel and water. Put it on a cotton pad. But do a spot test first.
Use Norwex it’s awesome just check it out
We use the body wash and face wipes
My daughter’s both have eczema and they had used this for years. Probably around 6 they used this perfectly safe and gentle on their skin. They used a silicone scrubby for their face
I had acne on my forehead bad as a kid. I cut dairy and ate more citrus and it cleared my skin right up.
My preteen now uses this I don’t know how safe on children that are that young
I use a oil free face wash for sensitive skin on my son and the same with lotion
I just use cetaphil cleanser for my 7 year old. Shes been using it a little over a year and has VERY sensitive skin. It works great!
Speak to the pediatrician to discover the root of it, and nip it in the bud now
At that young my mom had me mix olay liquid soap with sugar for an exfoliant then use regular bar olay for face washing it helped with acne and didn’t dry my skin out I always had issues with acne but had to be careful of what I used because it would cause dry patches on my face. But there is probably alot more options now than there was then.
Should never wash her face with soap.
Get a allergy test and see what she is allergic too, maybe certain food or the outdoors.
I would suggest using an oil, almond oil is a nice neutral oil. The oil breaks down the sebum and dirt, removing it without drying the skin out.
Also make sure the skin is warm before cleaning as the pores are more open then, use a warm damp cloth over the area, then rub the oil in, then use the warm damp cloth to wipe away any oil and dirt afterwards. Wishing you luck!
Most dermatologist will tell you to wash your face with baby soap
I use this cleanser and so does my daughter. It leaves my skin feeling moisturized after I use it.
Sugar and olive oil 🤷☺
I’d look at her diet xx
Dove wash for babies worked for my kids
Oil of Olay, is super sensitive. For the blackheads, you could try a peel off mask. I’m thinking a five year old would get a kick out of " peeling your skin off". Haha.
Cetaphil works great and is gentle
Cetaphil or I use the Burts Bees sensitive wipes for my 8 year old.
I am both a professional Esthetician and a women with extremely sensitive skin. You can’t go wrong with CeraVe!
Dove sensitive. They never show anyone using a washcloth on TV commercials, but a washcloth is really helpful. Luke warm water, not hot.
Use something that is alcohol and sent free like Cetaphil. I used it with my son they also make a lotion
You may want to consider having your child tested for allergies. Also consider changing laundry detergent to something fragrance and dye free. Products like cetaphil and cerave are great for sensitive skin.
Wash pillow covers often. Also in my family we have passed down a recipe of chamomile Tea and rose tea for the face of children. All you gotta do is boil both teas together and put warm on face with a cloth.
Tee tree wipes are good
Neutrogena body wash with 2% salicylic acid.
I bought my daughter Cetaphil.
Following, I have same issue with my smallest
Definitely more frequent pillow washing and cover changes. Perhaps even a satin pillowcase. Try using an antibacterial soap in the evenings. Something as simple as Dial, and a soft cloth. Then use cetaphil face cream before bed. Don’t use anything abrasive. Rinse face with plain water in the mornings.
Soap is not for your face. It’ll dry it out and clog the pours more.
I have read that alot of women with acne problems are using Johnson’s baby shampoo on their faces. Just a thought. Others use Yardley of lavender charcoal soap. I just bought some for my son. But he’s only used it once so far.
Gentle/sensitive cetaphil and don’t use fabric softener on her bedding. Change her pillow case a couple of times a week. Lots of water to drink. See if that helps.
Maybe try Burts Bees products. They’re gentle and non harmful
Micellar water might help not very harsh on skin
Our derm recommend Cetaphil or Neutrogena my sons (10 & 8) love the pink grapefruit line
Are you sure its acne and not Keratosis pilaris or milia?
Next doctors visit I would get some ideas from him/her. Until then maybe use washes for sensitive skin.
We use this line for my son who is also five that breaks out from sweating.

I’d talk to the doctor as she’s so young to see what you can/should do. But also, please make sure she knows it’s nothing to be ashamed of, because body confidence issues can start at a very early age.
If they are droolers you might want to change their Pillow Cases more. Hugs
Perfectly posh has great face washes. Www.Heidikraft.po.sh
Jessica DeRespino for sophia
Good natural range for kids, try not to use anything too harsh on their skin
Heather Jordan sounds like somebody needs a bar of soap from you!
