Is this normal when breastfeeding?

So I had my second daughter last Thursday and she has been exclusively breastfeeding for the most part. My first daughter refused to latch so I wound up exclusively pumping for 14 months but with my new baby, it’s so weird but I swear I keep feeling like a tightness in my abdomen and will catch my breath sometimes from it? I never got that with my oldest and wasn’t sure if it’s just everything shifting back into place amplified from actually breastfeeding this time or what but I was just curious if other moms experienced that at all. Also it’s only been a week and my bleeding is already significantly slowing down like I don’t even really need a big pad anymore just a pantyliner. Seems really soon though because I bled for 4 weeks with my oldest so wasn’t sure if that’s concerning or not.

The mechanism of nursing stimulates uterus contraction, so I don’t think less bleeding would be unusual compared to your previous postpartum experience while you were pumping. The abdominal tightness could also be the uterus contraction; the resulting catching of breath might be a stress response to the tightening. Always best to consult with your healthcare provider though. Good luck.

Contractions (after birth pain) very normal just had baby number 7 and it’s been excruciating, worse then all my labor’s

afterpains, happens more with second or more deliveries and when breastfeeding, can happen with pumping as well but is usually milder. If the pain gets worse or is unbearable and your bleeding increases or you generally feel unwell its best to be seen by your primary healthcare provider
