I've been feeling dizzy since birth: Advice?

So I had a healthy pregnancy, but since birth, I’ve been feeling really sick. Its been three months, and I’m nauseous and very dizzy and tired all the time so far; the doctors can’t find anything wrong is this normal? I’m a FTM, so I’m not sure how to post-birth is suppose to be.

Did they check your iron? I had VERY low iron after birth and they weren’t even sure why since I hadn’t lost much blood

Definitely not normal.
Are you breastfeeding? Are you eating and drinking enough to support breastfeeding? Your sugars may be low.
Or you could have low iron. I’d definitely be calling your doctor and telling them you want bloodwork to check your iron levels.

Have your iron checked

Definitely go see your doctor. You might be short vitamins. If you’re breast feeding maybe dehydration? Are you eating enough? Again PLEASE, see your doctor. Good luck. :four_leaf_clover:

Sounds like low iron

If you stopped taking prenatal, keep up. Most likely deficient in a vitamin. Are you breastfeeding? Getting enough water? Did you have an epidural?

I felt this way after birth but I had preeclampsia. I would def talk to your dr you could be low on iron. If you are breastfeeding be sure to stay hydrated my lactation nurse told me to triple whatever amount I use to drink.

If you can’t get answers from your Ob/ Gyn or PMD, get a 2nd opinion. Make sure to get your hemoglobin checked for anemia- you may be low in iron/ potassium, other vitamins. Go get rechecked, please. Baby needs you!

I had that after my 4th. Drs gave me meds that didnt help. I went to the chiropractor a few times and it was gone. I had disks out of place in my neck pinching my nerve. Good luck

Make sure you drink enough water and nutrients if you are breastfeeding.

You should see an ENT, I actually had this problem before pregnancy and was diagnosed with Ménière’s disease surprisingly since being pregnant and having my daughter I haven’t had these issues but a simple water pill helped balance it out while I did. I had to stop taking it when I found out I was pregnant and was nervous it would start again but it didn’t thankfully.

I went in because I felt so sick every day and exhausted and they told me I had post partum depression.

Could be lack of sleep? Combined with breastfeeding? I felt the same, like waves of dizziness, like standing up too fast type feeling, but randomly, mine was a mix of lack of sleep, breastfeeding, low iron, and not eating enough, I was eating well, but just not enough of it.

Iron deficiency is one reason why expecting and new moms experience dizziness. Could also be potassium, sugar levels or you’re lacking sleep/rest. You might want to check with the doctor to get an accurate diagnosis.

Keep taking your prenatal vitamins.

Chiropractor! I get dizzy spells every so often and it’s alwaysssss due to my neck.

Sounds very much like low iron. I’ve had low iron all my life and after all 3 of my births, I’ve had to go on iron pills for awhile to maintain and keep up my supply

Its been 20 years for me and I still feel that way :grimacing::face_with_monocle::expressionless:

I had vertigo after my second see a second doctor and Express your concerns

I felt like that and had low iron

I had this 2 or 3 times after birth, I ended up needing 2 blood transfusions, and then had a bladder infection which also caused the dizziness, then my iron dropped again. It’s good to keep testing just encase x

I had/have this they keep telling me its anxiety. Never had it before having kids.

Have your iron checked same thing happened to me…my iron was really low

You may have vertigo. Have a vestibular evaluation.

Might be something wrong with your postnatal healing, some sort of infection

I’m currently 34 weeks and have the same problem turned out to be low hemoglobin levels due to iron deficiency I got these iron tablets off the midwife and I feel like a new woman!

Could be hormones just getting back to normal. I had the worse headache for over a week after having my daughter. MRIs showed nothing abnormal. I was scared it was something bad, but it finally went away. I never get headaches either so it was unusual.

Sounds like you may have vertigo. I felt like this after birth but was due to vertigo from me being sick for a whole month and not being able to take any medicine. Could be you have vertigo or just your body is adjusting from everything you went through.

I felt like this after my 3rd. Lost alot of blood they couldnt give me blood transfusion due to having antibiotic at the time of birth. Felt like death for weeks, had to have iron infusion at 6-8 week check up… had vertigo really bad mainly at night. Felt sick after eating. All hormonal also. Babys play silly buggers with our bodies they are never truely the same after… i hope u feel better soon .stress and anxiety and lack of sleep can make u feel all the same things also.

You need to get your thyroid levels checked. I had the same issue 3 months postpartum and found out I had postpartum hypothyroidism. If your thyroid levels don’t go back to normal within a year it can be permanent.

Have them do further testing. I had a friend with similar symptoms. It ended up being her heart. She was fine until she gave birth.

I had that as well, no one knew why. I think it was just hormonal - I had a very strong hormonal response to it all (periomenapause + postpartum)

Did you lose a lot of blood? Is it possible you could be iron deficient as a result of losing too much blood.

See an Ear Dr or some one that can check you for positional virgo if that’s what it is they should be able to give you a treatment to get rid of it and regular Dr can not detect it because it is caused by the ear

May sound strange but you should get your ears checked- assuming u have already ruled out iron deficiency, dehydration?

43 day old son and I have the same thing. Sound and feels like vertigo

Did you have bloods done? My Iron was extremely low and needed supplements when I felt like that

This happened to me. 3rd child. I swore it was vertigo. I was dizzy and disoriented alot. I would feel like I was going to pass out in stores, couldn’t drive and it was debilitating. Doctor after doctor they couldn’t find anything wrong. Finally when my son was about a year old, it stopped. I think it was PPD mixed with severe anxiety. Except this wasn’t the "anxiety " I was used to. But it can come out in many different ways.

Didn’t happen to me but have you tried vitamins? Maybe you’re a little anemic :woman_shrugging:t2:

After 1 years old still feeling The same

I’m 13 weeks pp and still experiencing this :pensive:

Check your iron levels. Especially if you lost a lot of blood. This happened with my second delivery.

I had it. They said it was due to the epidural…?

Check iron Ann’s thyroid

Check your iron levels

Check your thyroid levels

Was feeling super lighted after I had my son. Get your thyroid and iron levels checked with blood work! I now have to take an iron supplement after my second child.

Too low calorie intake?

Takes quite a few months for your body to adjust back. But it does sound like you may have vertigo, maybe check with your doctor just to be sure! I also find most woman immediately stop taking a multi vitamin after giving birth, maybe try that and see if it stops some of your symptoms.

Some might bes low iron, or generally run down, may need a complan drink , or something like. To replace more quickly things your body needs especially if you’re breast feeding. Make sure you are getting plenty of sleep. If your babe sleeps in the day, have a nap yourself. Or rest with your feet up. And don’t stress about being a good mum. Loving your little one is always the first step. Again don’t get too tired. You are still recovering. I’ve had five myself. Each different from each other.

I was dizzy and blacked out after my c-section as well, couldn’t stand for long periods without feeling dizzy and I also had a perfect pregnancy but all of a sudden I had high blood pressure. They gave me medication and it helped, I eventually went back to normal after a month.

Keep going to the doctors til they find out whats wrong. You really have to advocate for yourself because doctor’s will tell you it’s just hormones. If you really feel like somethings wrong don’t give up. After my 3rd my body went haywire and the doctor’s shrugged it off like it was all In my head.

Make sure to continue eating prenatal vitamins for awhile since postpartum bleeding depletes iron and such and stay hydrated.

Possibly bppv (Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo) I get it from time to time and I get soo dizzy and nauseous. If you think it might be this let me know i can tell you some exercises to do thatll help. (Its just moving your head a certain way and holding for 30 seconds. If you wanna try. )

I was the very same when I had my little girl but after two or three weeks of having her the relized I was an eamic nd she’s nearly four now and I still get bad days with it

U are lacking something in ur diet ur body needs. Drink plenty of water, make sure u have enough iron and magnesium. Also keep a calorie and protein count make sure u are getting enough of all.

Have your iron checked, soon.

My first son messed up something with my inner ear. I used to have a rock solid stomach. Nothing made me nauseous. Did aerobatics in a WWII T-6 & a Pits Special, but now looking down in a moving car or even 3D movies make me want to vomit & he’s 11 now. Having a baby changes you.

Ask your doctor to check you cortisol levels!!! I’ve been having some of the same issues, with my hormones, examples are thyroid, pituitary gland and adrenal glands

My marriage was on the verge of divorce when I learnt about my husband’s infidelities after six months of marriage. I felt betrayed and believed that I was a laughing stock in my community because people spoke about his cheating on the streets. I lost trust in him. I became easily irritated and resented him. I sometimes woke up at 3 am and started swearing at him. Then towards August last year 2019, after long searching for a solution to my problems, I came across Mama Shamina facebook comment. she invited me to her Altar at her place and we made prayer because I did not want to lose my husband, but I also wanted him to stay faithful to me.In my desperation to save my marriage, I told my husband about mama and invited him to join us in the prayers which he did without hesitation. At the end of the prayer we spoke to mama who told us about the Therapy of Love services. We continued to attended the services on Fridays and understood that we needed God in our marriage and it was all made possible with Mama.We learnt about the importance of being faithful to each other as unto the Lord. My husband was able to end his side relationships and respect me after just a month with mama Shamina. I understood that the power of prayer works and witnessed this with Mama +27673785858

The tiredness and dizzy I can 100% relate too… in my case it was anxiety… but i didn’t feel nauseous

Get a blood test sounds like low iron. If they tell you your fine and you still feel sick keep pushing for answers your instinct will guide you. I was sick for months after birth finally fent better after 5 months because they couldn’t diagnose an obvious infection. Good luck!

Have doctors done all blood tests and found nothing? If so you could be suffering from lack of sleep or missed meals, take care of you as well as baby.

I had a vitamin D sufficiency. Had the dizziness and nausea.

I had really bad vertigo after I had my daughter took a couple months but worked itself out but I used to get horrible dizzy spells from it

Anemia possibly coupled with being exhausted, not eating right, possibly anxiety/ stress
