I need help finding the first name to go with the middle name Roland!! I have been through 1000’s of names, and my husband doesn’t like any I have picked out. My two favorite names are Hodge and Thrasher, but he’s not budging …What names do you think sound good?

Maybe it’s hard to find names to go with roland because it shouldn’t be used as a middle name it sounds more like a first name for example roland anthony or roland michael, or roland jacob but not the other way around it just wouldn’t sound right

A one or three syllable name goes best with a two syllable name. I like Ty Roland for one syllable. Of course three syllables sounds distinguished, like Benjamin Roland. Also, think how the last name sounds in the rhythm. Last one syllable names go best with three syllable names. Dakota Roland Green. I like Ty best. i would definitely go with a more common first name. roland is pretty uncommon these days and i think it’s good to make sure your child has a conventional name they can fall back on if they dislike their unconventional one, and vice versa.

My son’s name is Nickolas and hubby is Jonathan. I think they both sound ok with that middle name. Not sure with my grandsons name, which is Slaide. I particularly don’t like it but it’s what my daughter chose but I call him Tank cuz he is a big boy. Just think about the first name you choose wisely as it can affect him badly as he gets older. Good luck.
I like James. But then I’m southern and he’d be double named. “This is my son, James Roland.”

Mitchell, Zander, Jaxson, Brady, Trent, Tristen, Fynn, Luchiane, Derek, Jacob,Maverick, or go with Roland first then think of a middle name. Roland Jacob or something. As a school employee I can say kids are very mean about names these days…I would advise against Hodge or Thrasher.Obviously ur choice but think of the child, he would definitely be made fun of.

Rule of thumb, yell all the names together several times. I mean, several times… You’ll be doing that a lot as the kid gets older, so this helps you see if they fit well together.

I don’t have a middle name but it was custom here to use two middle names using the names of your godmother and godfather.
I’m not big on old timey names but I also understand the importance of family names (I’m assuming this is) and in the middle name spot Roland is fine. I agree with others, a shorter first name seems to flow better. Your style seems to be on the more, we’ll say unique side so I’ll try to include some of those as well. I’m all for not every day names (5 or 6 kids in a class with the same name kinda thing) but not so far out there that it’s just awful. I’m sorta interested in your husband’s choices.

Sean Roland, eric Roland, John Roland, Ryan Roland, cole Roland, Adam Roland all sound nice together. I like simple, easy to spell names although simple names can be butchered if you really try (ex natile for Natalie- this has happened to my daughter)
