I have a road trip coming up on our vacation! I’m looking at some ideas of things to do/look for. The main “attraction” style events are so ungodly expensive and our 2 year old really doesn’t last longer than 1-1.5 hours anyways. So I’m thinking a splash pad at a park or somethings like this. Does anyone have recommendations of what they do for their trips?

Weird roadside attractions: world’s biggest chair, giant ball of twine, Lucy the elephant at the Jersey Shore, Sideling Hill in Maryland, things like that. Splash pads & parks/playgrounds are good too. Summer often features free performances in parks & elsewhere. Free/low cost/donation admission to museums with kids programs.
