My husband and I are expecting our first child decided we are going to find out the gender just the 2 of us and do a little reveal for close friends and family. We like the idea of sharing the news with everyone in a fun way but also like being able to enjoy this special moment between just the 2 of us.
My question is I’m looking for ideas that aren’t your typical “gender reveal” ideas. Something different… no balloon pop or cake with the corresponding colour in the middle… I’m really looking for ideas on something different! Help please?!

Dye your dog:joy:pink or blue.
My husband and I have always done a private reveal together and then a reveal with the name and gender for all our friends in a big party for all three of our kids. 
We had someone pain my husbands hands and put them on my belly and revealed it along with pink glitter.
I seen one that I loved- the woman was throwing some kind of ball and the man hit it with a bat. Blue or pink I assume powder explodes in the air!
You could do (pink or blye) paint in water guns and white tees
We did a bonfire. Its pretty country, but it was really fun. Sporting good stores sell sticks that color the flames. The bigger the fire, the more sticks you need.

Do a pie splat? Lol. Layer of dyed whipped cream under regular whipped cream.
We did a baby related scavenger hunt outside with a plastic football at the end to punt that had the gender color in it. The theme was football’s or tutus.
we popped balloons filled with paint onto a canvas, and gave everyone else confetti poppers and then i’m going to paint his name onto the canvas and hang it in his room

I saw an egg smash thing where they had pink or blue die on the inside of one of the eggs in a carton. And they just kept going back and forth smashing the eggs on their heads (hard boiled) until they got one with a color.
Is there a hobby you both enjoy? You could use that to reveal. It’s very personal cause it’s something you guys enjoy.
My fiance and I had the family squirt us with water guns (food coloring was inside) and we had on white shirts!! It was fun for everyone. We were also blindfolded because we had my mom do everything. We wanted to be surprised as well

Could buy silly string in the proper color and have a silly string fight!
We found out just the 2 of us, then had a cook out the next weekend with family and friends. My husband shot a box filled with tannerite and blue chalk powder

Write out on a piece of paper ‘It’s a …’ then cut it into puzzle pieces. Each guest gets a piece and they have to “put it together” as they say

My fiancé and I got a shadow box from hobby lobby and stained it. Then picked out the outfit that we want him to come home from the hospital in and out it in the box with a picture of the sonogram
Fireworks. They aren’t as expensive as you would think.
We did a softball that her dad hit and exploded! It was cute
We did an exploding golf ball
We got everyone confetti poppers and smoke bombs and had them do a semi circle around us. It was fun and made the perfect picture!
We had friends throw the colored powder on us with our eyes closed…washed right out

We set off a white smoke bomb to get everyone confused and then set off the pink one after we had everyone’s full attention. Had our little 2/21/19

I did mine on Halloween, we had a pumpkin carved saying Its A Girl and pink glowsticks.
Silly string, confetti poppers, paint in squirt guns, hard boiled egg cracked on forehead is funny
I made this for a friend and they tied the color balloons to it and had them open a box up to reveal it

You could paint some boiled eggs in the shells blue or pink and leave one that is the gender uncooked and each person smashes an egg on their head until the uncooked one is broken, its fun as you don’t know who will get the soft egg. Just have napkins waiting for the clean up
This was ours yesterday. Just a few family members. I had the gender written on a piece of paper in an envelope took it to dollar tree. Had a can a blue and a can of pink made sure there were no markings on it to identify the color. Had the cashier look and put the color that wasnt behind the counter and take the lid off the color it was and throw it away and sell us the can without the lid.

We used colored powder in hubby’s semi stacks
We did fortune cookies. The cookies were free bc we took them from Chinese restaurants. All we had to do was
print little papers with the gender announcement and the “lucky date” as the due date. Turned out pretty cute.
You should make like 50L of whatever colour slime (cornstarch and water plus food colouring) and pull a rope to release it lol make a mess make your whole family/friends stand under it so everyone gets covered in a one time photo that you will laugh at for years

Meet those special people at your favorite restaurant. You go ahead of the others and have the waiter serve he same drink to everyone with blue or pink coloring! When everyone asks, ”what’s this?”,look coy and let them figure it out.

Could bake a cake and put food colouring in the sponge then ice it? Doesn’t have to be pink or blue either.

I couldn’t drink, but everyone else could. So we blacked out a bottle of Patron and colored it for the gender.
