My 4 year old just had his tonsils/adenoids removed. Send me all your tips/suggestions, meal/snack ideas
Pudding, apple sauce
Anything soft but not to hot or cold.
My daughter was 5 when she had her tonsils/adenoids removed.
Jello, applesauce, popsicles, mashed potatoes
Mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, lo mein, pudding, Mac n cheese, warm soup
My son ate cooled soup, apple sauce, popsicles, jello and baby puree pouches for about 3 weeks while recovering from his tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy
Popsicles, jello (no red or purple), Gatorade, applesauce, chicken noodle soup. No dairy as it thickens mucous and makes swallowing harder. No red and purple as it can mask potential bleeding. It only took my son less than 2 days to decide he wanted and was ready for more solid stable foods.
Popsicles, jello with whipped cream, mashed potatoes
Really just depends upon what the kid wants. My 10 year old had his done when he was younger and all he wanted was popsicles and jello. My 3 year old had it done a year ago and she ate chicken nuggets about 2 hours after
Nothing red and no milk products. .
Things that are red can make it harder to tell if the wound starts to bleed and milk products can cause phelem. We was told soft foods for the first few days
I got my daughter the real fruit Popsicles so she wasn’t eating a ton of sugar
i ate rice and mashed potatoes, popsicles and ice cream, just softer foods are good really. lots of rest, tylenol, ibuprofen, and benadryl if pain is too unbearable at night, it’ll make for a good sleep aid.
Popsicles, yogurt, applesauce, smoothies….basically back to being a baby and having it super cold helps
My 5 year old just had hers done last week. Cold foods the first day, popsicles, pudding, jello, ice water. Same thing next day but added in Mac and cheese all the way cooled off. No red foods or drinks, nothing sour/citrus, spicy, hard, crunchy or crispy. Basically anything else as long as it’s not a hot temperature for a while
Scrambled eggs extra extra scrambled
My son was 3 and we stuck to a soft diet. Anything with any sorta of hard can pop the scabs off and cause issues.
He ate hotdogs, spaghetti-os , mashed potatoes, yogurt, smoothies and. popsicles!!! Popsicles help with the pain and help the swelling.
Yogurt, jello, soup, mashed potatoes, maybe grilled cheese with tomato soup to get it a little soggy?
Popsicles-ice cream is not a good idea, nor is milk-too much phlegm
Shave ice from like tropical sno or sno biz
Our ENT said he could eat anything he wanted. On the way home from the hospital he wanted a sausage biscuit from bojangles. Ate about three bites and went to bed. But really, they can eat whatever they’re comfortable eating.
Mine had warm soap for couple days and then she went back to normal
Stay away from anything red or purple.
Soup broth , jello not red , frozen treats ( not ice cream ) not red, so can tell if they are bleeding, canned fruit cut very small , apple sauce
