My 1-year-old has a lump in her neck: Advice?

My nearly 1yro has a lump in her neck. I took her to the doctors about 2/3month ago as she was unwell n I had also noticed this lump on her neck… The doctors put it down to her been unwell so her lympthnodes had flared up due to her been unwell and to keep an eye on the lump and if hasn’t gone down in 8 weeks to bring her back… The lump is still there now. It doesn’t bother her but I am worried about it… Has anyone else had this problem and know what it could be??? Thank you

I wouldn’t have waited that long. Take her somewhere else where they will find out exactly what it is.

My son had that and the doctors told me the same so I looked up natural ways to help him get better baking soda is amazing found out that back in like the 30s maybe 50s baking soda was regularly proscribed for colds

Doctors in this country don’t know shit and they really don’t care. Absolutely ridiculous

My now 28 yr old had it she was in her car seat sleeping and her neck was cocked over and it was sticking out she was 1 I took her to u of m and it was just a swollen lymphnode

Could be cyst r Timor I’d request they lance small open n test for any serious infections r cancer affiliated?? Be safe n make them test n double check

I am surprised she wasn’t given a course of mild antibiotics.I run an orphanage and this is what is usually prescribed for a lump in the neck which means an infection somewhere.

My granddaughter when was 7 months old her lympnodes swelled up and they had to admit to her hospital to be drain. Which was quick little surgery had no problems since. I take her back to doc or er.

Could be lymph nodes, but I would have to have a second opinion!

My son had the same thing, did all the tests and it was just an oversized lymph node. Completely harmless in his case. But its always good to see a specialist, not just another doctor.

I would get a second opinion

My little boy had lymph nodes that was swollen doctor sent us home that morning then health Visitor notice them and sent us stright to hospital was luckma cells he was only 5 days old dnt take no for an answer get second opinion hope all goes well xx

My daughter had the same thing. Turned out it was Hashimotos disease. I recommend getting a 2nd opinion.

So I wasn’t a baby when this happened. But when I was like 13 I had tiny little benign tumors growing in my neck that ended up growing on and entangled a vein and forced the vein out of my neck. Didn’t cause my any pain until that point but I had felt a lump. So I’d get other opinions.

My son had one on the side of his neck below the ear, after Mri scans it turned out to be cystic hygroma. They was wrapped around his facial nerves. He still has it as its too dangerous try & operate but he can get it removed anytime. Get a second opinion maybe request a scan?!

I have five kids, five grandkids, and over 30 foster children (over a 15 year span) and found this to be very common. It scared me to death at first but doctors never seemed concerned.

Does she sweat excessively in her sleep? I don’t want to worry you but I’d get a second opinion because my 22 year old had a large lymph node in his neck and it ended up being Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

I have 1. It’s been there for as long as I can remember. Never gave me an issue and my tests always come back normal.

My son had the same thing. My mom noticed at 3 months a lump behind his ear, took him to the Dr and they monitored it for a few months. It didnt go down so they sent us to a ear, nose, and throat specialist. It turns out it was a swollen lympnode that was caused by teething. It went away and he’s perfectly healthy 15 month old.

My son has had this since he was like 9 months old and he is going on 4 …they did a scan and said it was just a swollen lymphnode that flared when he was sick and never went down but we still keep out eye on it…it doesn’t bother him or hurt him but it has never gone down

Take her back to the doctor since it’s been more than 8 weeks and that’s when he said to bring her back if it didnt go away.
