Babies do that. I just had to wait my baby out for a few days, and she eventually ran out of steam and went back to napping, just a little later than her usual time
First let me say, that we have eight kids, and I was had an in home daycare for several years…so I’ve had care of a LOT of babies… nothing is foolproof for EVERY baby. That being said…
Around your LOs age, babies make a huge leap in interest in the world around them. Their little brains and bodies get a huge jump in external stimulation, so nap regression is totally normal. What I’ve seen in my experience that works best to re-establish a nap routine. Wind things down over the hour prior to nap time. Lower lights, calmer sounds (checkout the Mindful Kids YouTube channel…great ambient sound, music and visuals to help calm the babe). Transition from active play to snuggly lap time, carrying baby. Make sure they have a full tummy and dry diaper. Try to settle them to nap in a situation different from where they play. In bed at home, on a nap mat with a nap specific blankie elsewhere. Also note that your LO is needing a bit less sleep than in early infancy. Try moving wake up time 30 minutes earlier, or bedtime 30 minutes later. All babies and toddlers go through hitches like this…best of luck Mamma! You’ll get through this one!
Stop them or they will be to late its all good momma!!!
Maybe your LO will start taking naps again and maybe he/she won’t it’s different for all babies but either way enjoy it because before you know it they’ll be grown
My 10 month old is going through the same thing!!!
My baby stopped at 9 months
Just too curious about the world. Now naps at 13.
My 3 yr old stopped napping at 6 months but has always slept all through the night so i cant complain
We cut out naps and run 12’s.
I forced naps at first, but it just made all of us miserable.
my kids took naps until they were in kindergarten–took naps at daycare. when they were babies, they always took naps even on days i didn’t work. my kids were miserable without naps and they slept through the night–bedtime was 8–8:30 pm
Taking my little guy outside for a bit usually does the trick. We come in a half hour before nap time and watch something.
Let him/her fall were they be:rofl:
My daughter has gone through several nap regressions. She’s 2 1/2 now and still regularly takes them. We skip them some days if we’re busy but I just kept trying and eventually she stopped fighting it. She definitely needs her naps though
