My 13 year old has always been a sweetheart. But lately his aggression is taking over. We’ve tried a couple of things and change of meds but nothing is helping. Any moms go through this? Have any had any success with medication for aggression? We have done abilify but the lowest dose…we are thinking maybe if we try again with higher doses. Doc is recommending respirdone.
It’s his hormones I went threw it with my 17 year old and still going threw it I just talk to him when I see it happening and it seems to work for me

Sounds like puberty to me not everything needs a medical diagnosis sometimes kids are just learning to process their emotions… sometimes you just gotta help them learn coping mechanisms / navigate thru them…

Does he require mood stabilizer/antipsychotics for something else other than aggression?
13? Are you sure it’s not just hormones from puberty along with maybe being messed with at school or something like that? Try figuring out the problem before going straight to medicating a literal child that can’t control his emotions.
