They don’t have to have milk if they’re getting calcium the other way. My kids are both sensitive to milk protein, but can eat certain cheeses. As long as your kids are getting calcium and growing and developing properly, then don’t worry about it and just let them drink water or soy milk.

Try chocolate or strawberry milk.

They can have cows milk after 12 months if she’ll drink that instead of formula?

She doesn’t need milk. Give her water. She’ll be fine.

My son got off formula and didn’t care for milk. He’ll only drink water

Maybe try watering the formula down slowly with less powder and more milk

Have you tried giving her milk in a sippy cup - tell her that is what BIG kids drink out of. Maybe mix some milk with formula - cut the formula down gradually - - - the strawberry milk might be good. Or a fruit smoothie with yogurt and milk (I drink that) - - - . See what vegies have calcium in them and give her calcium in vitamins.

Babies can be on formulas up to 3yrs then it’s drinks like pediasure. I breast fed my kids and one of them never transitioned to milk. She is 15 now and she still doesn’t do milk but she will do almond or soy milk. I switched her to formula when I had my third daughter by mixing breast milk with formula an just did more an more formula as we weened. Once I got her off the breast milk she was on the formula till just before she was 3 and I was able to do the same thing with soy/almond milk as I did with the breast to formula. An I did that bc she ended up being allergic to the protein in cows milk. So if you want to switch her start doing 90/10 formula to milk an then decrease as you go. I did a week of say 90/10 breast to formula for about a week and then I did 80/20 for 5 days , 70/30 for 4 days, an so on. Each time I lessened the amount of the one I wanted her off of I would decrease the days I did it along with the amount until I could have her on just one. Now I left mine on the switched one for a little over a year but I think since you are only doing a single switch that you may be able to transition a little slower so it’s not such a surprise when you stop formula altogether. But there are formulas for toddlers age 1-3 so you can do a multiple transition if the single is too much for your baby and she gives a hard time.

How about mixing the 2 together and then cutting back on the formula little by little

Mix the milk with the formula. Start with 1/4 milk and 3/4 formula. Over the next week or so, slowly lower the amount of formula and increase the amount of milk until it’s nothing but milk.

Give her food instead of formula

I gave mine Next Step Soy formula (not sure if they still make it) till he was 3. After that added Ovaltine to cow milk. My daughter stopped drinking milk at 15 months… pediatrician said not to worry :woman_shrugging:t2:

Chocolate milk is all my 4 year old will drink. He says regular milk is gross.

They don’t need sugar crap juice, just offer water. They don’t need milk if they are getting everything else that you wrote

I don’t do cows milk, it’s not really necessary.
I do have Silk Original Coconut milk for smoothies, cereals, drinks and my kid loves it.
We do yogurt and cheese, and there are always calcium vitamins if needed.

She doesn’t NEED milk. :woman_facepalming: Give the kid food. Stop the formula. If she’s thirsty give her water or juice or whatever. Keep trying milk periodically. Milk is not a necessity. Formula should stop right around their 1st birthday. (Obviously kids with delays or special needs would be different but overall as long as it is a typically developing child you stop formula at a12 months.)

l get paid over $125 per hour working from home. l never thought I’d be able to do it but my buddy makes over $18830 a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The possibility with this is endless.

My granddaughter was g-tube fed until she was 3-years-old. After finally getting her to the point that she would take food by mouth, drinking (anything) was a big hurdle to meet the criteria to get the tube removed.

We started out with Carnation Instant Breakfast added to milk then started adding a bit of vanilla extract to plain milk. She loves it.

I have a two yr old Granddaughter that hates formula ( as a baby) and milk I can ask my Granddaughter what she has done if u want me too ?What about Goats milk or a milk shake ?

Try it with chocolate or strawberry syrup

My toddler (2) didnt like regular milk but he loves this one….it usually comes in 3.5lb Tub for $20

Children DO NOT need another mammals milk, humans do not need it in general.
We do oatmilk or almond milk, but water mostly.

I know it’s so frustrating huh? I would suggest either to add chocolate syrup to make chocolate milk and see what happens OR stick to just water until she is so thirsty then maybe she’ll want the milk!!
Good luck!!

12 months, bottle gone, formula gone. They drank milk. If not water it was

So don’t give her milk or formula. I daughter is allergic so didn’t get either after 1yr old. There’s enough calcium in foods. It’s a myth that kids NEED to drink milk. There’s calcium gummies ect. If you’re worried about that.

Mix it and slowly reduce the formula until she is used to it

Well, I had 4, bottles were gone between 9 months and a year and they were drinking from a sippy cup, water, juice, milk whatever they wanted really, but they were also sitting in a highchair and eating soft foods by then…

Mix it little by little. Start with 1/4 milk and 3/4 formula.

I know plenty of people that didn’t like milk itself but would eat cheese yogurt or ice cream. just supplement with calcium products it’s also in orange juice jugs if you look for it or you can just give the child vitamins.

I weaned them off the formula by tradition to toddler formula and from there to the flavoured ones and onto milk, with my one son I used to mix milk and yogurt and he would drink it no problem just slowly increased the milk and next thing I knew he was drinking milk

We did the toddler stuff until age 3 at least once a day. Then he just stopped on his own.

Try adding some chocolate, strawberry or vanilla powder to the the milk

She doesn’t need milk, let her drink what she enjoys drinking now.

Just stop the formula and switch to water. Or water the formula down slowly. But with all the other dairy they don’t have to drink milk.

Warm it up. Only way majority of mine would drink it.

Just give her water. Like other comments have said toddlers don’t need milk if they are getting calcium in other forms

She doesn’t need the milk or formula as long as she’s eating other forms of dairy.

Transition to toddler formula or Nido (Ex: a 8oz bottle would be 2 scoops formula 2 scoops nido), then go to a 3 scoop 1 scoop ratio after she gets used to the first change, and then complete Nido or toddler formula like enfamil enfagrow, and then do the same with milk and Nido half Nido mixed with water half milk, and then mix a few scoops of Nido into milk, also try warming the milk to room temp or whatever her bottle temp usually is, some babies have a hard time transitioning from warm or room temp formula to cold milk you can test this by making formula with ice water and see if she takes it

My son hatted milk. I just gave him water for a couple years. Here and there he would have some milk with cereal but that’s about it.

I hate milk and so does my daughter :woman_shrugging:t2: as long as you get your calcium from other things like cheese or yogurt or even things like beans, broccoli, kale etc. you don’t NEED milk

6 months late in my opinion. I would say quit it cold turkey and offer whole milk or just juice

She is TOO OLD NOW. and was 6 mo. ago.

when you go from formula to milk you start by replacing part off her bottle/cup with 3/4 formula and 1/4 milk and then half half and then 3/4 to 1.4 and then full milk , this is the way i did with all 3 off my kids

formula isn’t doing anything for her after a year old. i’d start mixing more and more milk with formula until she gets used to the taste and weans off the formula entirely.

Mix it. 1 Oz of milk with her formula intake minus how much milk is in it. So if she is on 5 Oz of formula. Give her 4 Oz of formula and 1 Oz of milk. Then after a week up the milk intake by 1 Oz. This is what I did with all my children. Also I’ve added strawberry nesquick or chocolate nesquick in it. The powder. There’s less sugar in it than the syrups.

She does need milk. Full fat milk to be exact. What I did is slowly add more and more regular high fat milk to her formula. After a couple of weeks she should be completely off formula.
The reason she needs milk is because her brain and other organs need the fat in the milk to develop properly. If it can’t be done then talk to a children’s nutritional specialist to make sure she is getting what she needs

Don’t even offer the formula. She will eventually drink normal milk. Don’t give into her tantrums if she has them when giving her milk. You have to stand your ground. Formula these days are not cheap and if you feel your baby is ready for milk, just make the switch and don’t offer the formula anymore.

Try weaning her instead of just giving her milk. I started an ounce of milk at a time in formula every few days until it was all milk. I have three kids. If she doesn’t like it then just replace w calcium foods she doesn’t have to drink it but talk to dr about alternatives. My second didn’t care for it I added tiny bit of chocolate to it until I could wean him from the bottle. Cause wasn’t so much the milk it was the bottle w him that may be an issue too if she’s still drinking from a bottle.

Mine is two and won’t drink milk either! I have tried every variety and I have done the 1oz to 7oz formula and so on and she just flat out refuses. Our pediatrician said to just go with it… she has recently started to only drink half of her usual 2-3 bottles a day. So I’m hoping this will be the end! I feel you though! I was so upset when I couldn’t get her to transition but my pediatrician assured me she will do it in her own time!

My son just started drinking milk 9 months ago after being off the boob he’s two and a half now and asks for milk

Try toddler milk. It’s like formula
