We went through this with my boy. Talked to the pediatrician around 2 years and they immediately put him into early intervention services and they came to our home to help him with his speech. He’s finally to where he needs to be and got taken out of speech when he turned 5. It’s hard to see your kid struggling with anything and try to remember that every child is different.
I totally understand what your going through. I felt the same way about my son so brought it up at his 18 month checkup (he will be two at the end of May) and they said if he doesnt start saying more in the next three mos then they may recommend some speech therapy. He doesn’t sing the ABC’s or count but he is deff saying more words. My best advice is bring it up with your pediatrician!
I would def talk to pediatrician. My daughter is two and says full sentences sings her abcs and can count to 12 and list off her colors. Two year olds should def be talking. My brother didn’t talk until he was three and my mom took him to a specialist.

My son also only says a few things. We are in speech therapy and that has helped a lot. I agree with the narration. I tell my son what we are doing. Everytime he says something praises and hugs. He has been talking more lately. Dont stress momma soon he will talk your ear off
My 2 1/2 year old sings his ABCs, twinkle twinkle Little star, his favorite show theme songs, he can count to 10 and he knows his name. He also knows a lot more. He said mama , dada, and simple stuff at two, his vocabulary all of a sudden got huge, despite us thinking he was behind. Do not compare your child to others. I however do suggest that before assuming it is an intellectual disability make sure they don’t have hearing or eyesight issues. I was told that cause speech impediments. Every child developed at their own pace
My Son didn’t talk until 4.5 yo. Sometimes it can be due to underlying issues, sometimes it could just be speech delay! Call your pediatrician and ask for some kind of evaluation just to see of you can narrow down where that delay is coming from.
That was my boy! Turned out he is autistic. Didn’t really talk till he was 5. But every child is different and before you over analyze the situation just make an appt with your pediatrician and see what they think!

My son will also be 2 in June and he doesnt talk either…although my son has a global delay and is with birth to three…all he says is mama, dada, baba, more, me ut oh and nana…if thats all hes behind in im sure words will come soon…just keep reading to him and encouraging him…itll happen!
My son turns 2 next month and only says a few words. You could take him to speech therapy…i did, but work got in the way so we are working on simple sign language at home like speech recommended. As well as narrating everything so that he hears you talking to him all the time “mommy is making lunch. We are having chicken and milk.” “Time to get you dressed. Here’s your shirt, here’s your pants” make your language simple though. He will catch on. Every new word my son says or signs, i praise him like crazy.
My son is 4 n is not talking , jus a few words only speech therapy didnt help cuz he cries, so i stop. Doctors says he is not autistic. He hears an understand follows instruction jus not speaking.
My daughter who is now 4 wasn’t speaking at all at 2 I put her into speech therapy and she now talks non stop lol some children just need a little more help which there is nothing wrong with that
My boys were slower to hit their talking milestones. My daughter was early. Check with his pediatrician, but it sounds fairly normal
You mama’s need to quit worrying when he starts talking you are going to want them to be quite I had six believe me I know
