My 3 month old baby is refusing the bottle, advice?

My baby refused the bottle at that age as well.Only to find she hated the formula and I changed it.She was fine.

3 months people… it not like it is a newborn fresh out of mom. Stop with the titty is beast blah blah blah. That isn’t what they are asking.

Change the bottle brand, put on the boob, syringe feed, spoon feed. Just get that milk in that baby. If nappies aren’t as wet as usual go to the ER

Wet ur finger, dip it into some sugar. Wet the nipple of the bottle then tap ur finger with the sugar on it. Dont come for me about this. Its better than the baby starving.

baby might be over fed and not hungry

You take charge mama, make him sit in that bouncy seat until he does. Who’s in charge anyway?

Try different types of bottles and nipples, teethers

I tried a ton of different nipples until I found one that worked. Gerber had a great one, very nipple like and the flow came in all different directions vs one stream straight into the mouth, just like breast.

Feed them yogurt ,Proply yeast infection in mouth.

My baby didn’t lik his formula so I put Karo syrup in his bottle 1/2 teaspoon per 8 oz.this also helps with bowel movements .later I put choc.in his bottle just a little .he begin to drink all his milk but he throw his bottle away at 11 month .went to sippy cup.

If this is suddenly new behavior I’d get the baby checked by dr

Sounds like baby is in pain. Either his mouth or throat hurts. I suggest doctor visit.

Wine glass. More mature now

Are you really serious with dumb ass questions these people don’t have or see a doctor :man_health_worker::woman_health_worker:

Just go get her nails done! This is a nail page will everyone quit posting stupid advice questions. Isn’t that what your normal page is for? :nail_care::woman_shrugging: :woman_facepalming:

Any white spots in the mouth? Can be thrush which is oainful.

Take to doctor if this lasts more than 24 hours.

Talk to your pediatrician…TODAY.

Give em your boob? Its very possible to reproduce milk after becoming"dry". Trust me I still leak after 2yrs some times.
If your against trying it then :

Maybe the formula doesn’t taste good to the baby, try a different brand, or kind (with Dr permission).
Add honey wheat cereal (Nestle Nestum brand @ Walmart) to the bottle and get stage 3 nipples it makes it sweeter and fills the babe up.

Don’t get frustrated. A baby won’t starve themselves, they will eat when they’re hungry.

If the baby is full breastfeeding that’s way the baby don’t like the bottle I’m breastfeeding and my son start taking the bottle after the 10 months but just for water or juice he’s 1 1/2 yr old don’t drink milk in bottle he’s still breastfeeding if is not your case so maybe is the bottle try a different one!!Good luck

Could your baby by any chance have thrush? If so it may hurt babies mouth!! I recommend going to pediatrician and having him/her checked out, because nobody here can give you a solid answer we don’t know enough about your baby

Try changing the bottle brand.

Try different bottles, nipples or nipple sizes.

Try a diffrent brand

These ‘fan questions’ are bull!

Don’t like the nipple like everyone is saying. Change formula Or built up gas as well. Me no doctor

A lot of people here are lacking compassion. Maybe this person wants to see what has worked for other mums, instead of being told the same thing, which does not always work. I think 100’s of parent’s tips are worth something. Maybe they are going through and adding up the most common answer, to try that one opinion that stands out the most. How dare anyone shame a person for asking advice. Same society that probably share suicide awareness posts, yet ridicules people for asking for advice on stuff they are struggling with. You may have just turned a harmless question, into a shitty feeling for that person. Congratulations.

Anyway, my answer to the original post - all 3 of mine absolutely refused bottle, but i breastfed (the bottle was just for familiarising incase of emergency and i couldnt get home to bubby in time). I found that if you are breastfeeding, they are generally well fed, and wont be hungry enough, and they get used to the texture of your nipple, and dont like the teet. With that all said, this is where routine may need to come into play. Baby might need to be offered bottle and refused breast, at a certain time every day, no give in. It would be hard…i couldnt do that. Sometimes they will accept bottle from someone else, if you arent in the room. Hopefully you can get a nice comfortable solution soon.

A little corn syrup on the nipple of the bottle or mixed in the formula. It will also help the baby with stools if constipated. It was my grandmother recipe and I did this for my 3 kids. Worked like magic. Also make sure to always place a finger in contact with the baby’s cheek when holding the bottle for feed. It act as contact of the breast.

Try a different type of bottle/nipple the mam bottles are pretty good.

Try the cheapest bottles u will be surprised and I mean the $1 bottles at Walmart,.99, dollar tree Good Luck

Why are all the posts now questions about parenting and husbands???

make sure baby doesn’t have gas stuck
