My 4 month old is very congested...advice?

Please help. I’ve taken my 4 month old to the dr twice he’s very congested and the dr said his lungs sound clear but he’s so miserable and can’t breathe. I’m doing the saline spray up the nose, suctioning his nose, breathing treatments & cool mist humidifier. What else can I do to help him since he’s so young ? I want him better , he’s very miserable

TikTok - Make Your Day do a saline rinse

I know this will sound crazy but it does work.

Put baby vicks on the bottom of his feet and cover with a clean pair of socks.

We used a vicks vaporizer for my daughter. We used the lavender or kids tabs so it wasn’t to strong.

Have you tried a warm mist humidifier? I feel the warm ones work better for congestion like that. Or sit in the bathroom with the hot shower for a while before you buy a warm one to see if that helps.

Warm shower, then Vicks on the bottom of the feet with socks and a little bit on babies chest and back.

Keep doing what you’re doing. Another way is steaming up your bathroom with hot water and putting a towel under door for the steam doesn’t escape and sitting in there. Vicks for babies can help too.

Try chest/back percussion.

Chest percussion is a chest physiotherapy technique that can help loosen mucus in a child’s chest so it can be coughed out:

How to perform chest percussion

Put a thin layer of clothing on your child’s chest.
Position your child so that the part of the lung you’re treating is higher than the rest of their lungs.
Use a cupped hand or percussor cup to firmly pat over 6 areas of your child’s chest and back in a regular rhythm.
Clap for 1–3 minutes for infants, and 3–5 minutes for toddlers and older.
Repeat on the other side of the chest.
Cover your child’s skin with a blanket or towel to protect it.
When to perform chest percussion
:
Perform chest percussion before meals or 30 minutes after meals.
Infants should get two treatments daily, and increase to three to four when sick.
What to avoid
:
Do not percuss over the backbone, breastbone, or lower two ribs.
Do not place your infant in a head-down position to avoid reflux.
What to expect
:
Percussion should not cause red marks on your child.
When done correctly, you should hear a popping sound.

No Vicks unless their doctor specifically said it was okay. The internet is full of advice, but sometimes it’s not the best advice…

Chopped onions on bottom of feet in a baggy and put socks on top

Vicks has potroleium

Get a humidifier and keep it going. Rub chest and back with vapor rub. If you don’t want to put on skin put on a towel close to face to breath in.

The nose suckers suck! I’d recommend the nose Frieda and it looks disgusting but works wonders. It sucks all the snot out a lot better. They have other stuff too
