Shoe crisis: my almost-four year old refuses to wear any shoes no matter how cool they are (and trust me, I’ve tried everything). Reward system starting soon BUT open to other ideas! Shoe suggestions that help with sensory issues maybe?

Lol I’m 31 and don’t like wearing shoes. But maybe it could be a sensory issues. Maybe try finding different types of shoes.

My daughter hated shoes and a lot of clothing items. With shoes, id put them on him and make a game of it…how many jumps can you do in your shoes…can you beat me? See how long he’ll keep them on and gradually build up. Even if he’ll only put them on for 2mins at a time, do it every day or a couple times a day if he will tolerate it. Hopefully the sensation will be less with time.

Not ideal but have you tried letting them wearing cool slippers? Maybe giving an option between cool slippers and sandals, so they feel they have some control or try taking them to the store to pick out some form of foot wear you both find acceptable. My son has sensory issues and he hasn’t worn a pair of jeans in 4 years bc he can’t stand anything stiff on his body.
My son is 9 & the only shoes he will keep on are Crocs🤦🏽♀️
Have you tried something like sandals? When my son was about this age he HATED wearing shoes, but when I got him a pair of sandals, it helped

Last night I mixed our left over chili with a box of velveta cheese, and Rotel, poured it on some nachos and baked for a few minutes. Delicious
Try crocs my kids were the same way till I got them crocs
