Kids can have very real physical medical issues that cause this

She needs to see a dr

Rule out sexual abuse and dont trust nobody with your child. Suddenpotty accidents by completely potty trained kids is usually the first sign that they’re being sexually abused

Make her clean it. Also see a doctor. If it continues put her in pull ups

Is she constipated? This could be part of the issue and it hurts for her to poop. See a doctor and make sure all is well.

My ADHD babe had accidents after being potty trained . I would first consult with your dr : )

Following as similar issue with my kiddo

I used to babysit a 12 year old that pooped her pants, it wss not fun . She was not abused at all. Her mom was at wits end.

Try to get them on a schedule, get to the bathroom around the same time each day to try to go, potty watches can also help with reminders. Use busy boards/drawing/books to keep occupied. If they aren’t able to go take a break and try again later. Stay consistent and be positive. Try not to shame, but remain supportive and have them help with clean up if they can. Point out pottys everywhere you go, talk about our potty etiquette and listening to our bodies/autonomy, and check out helpful books at the library to read together. Start a reward system. Our 1st son struggled with pooping in the potty and didn’t respond much to stickers or anything else like that so instead we did penny pees and quarter poops. We decorated a little potty money jar together and at the end of the week he could take his change to the dollar tree and spend it which he loved and felt like a big reward to him. Just be creative and stay positive as much as possible which I know can be hard at times. You’ve got this!

Take your child to the Dr it could be constipation. My son was like that and one of my nephews and it turned out they were constipated.

My son does this in his underpants atm (also 5), not with every single poo but he does it often. He knows when he needs it and has been toilet trained for years. Happens with wees too but that’s usually only when he has an impulsive thought and follows through very fast without thinking, for example… he was on his way to the toilet one time, saw my shoe out of the corner of his eye, diverted to the shoe, did wee in it and then came to tell me. He is suspected to have ADHD, I see some other comments mentioning that too, I wasn’t aware it could be linked, but we learn new things everyday!

There’s a reason she’s doing it. Take her to the pediatrician to find out why. If nothing medical then you need to get her into a child therapist to see what the underlying emotional reason is. Kids don’t just start doing that out of the blue especially at 5 years old.

To busy playing need reminders

This not uncommon for some reason.

Give a reward for :poop: in the toilet. Candy, stickers or a trip to get ice cream
