My daughter is five. For the last two months she is unable to sit and eat a meal. She used to sit and eat and move around a bit- i would have to remind her to eat maybe once. Now she is constantly moving. She cannot focus on eating. I either help her take bites so I don’t have to repeat myself saying please take another bite or turn around, sit down and eat. Is this a developmental phase? We all sit down as a family to eat meals when at home. The tv is not on. Anyone else experience this around this age?
She is getting her way. She moves and you feed her. You need to set the expectation that when we are eating, we sit and don’t move so we don’t choke. If she continues, dismiss her from the table. Do not let her come back until she is ready to sit and eat.

Some kids have lots of energy… not a big deal. Is she sitting normally for other activities?
