My 6-month-old has been very restless...advice?

I don’t know if I should take my almost 6 M/O to the pediatrician a week early from her scheduled well check… she is VERY restless throughout the whole day will not take naps more than 20-30 min because she is so restless then exhausted even more fussy… she has no fever, she’s slightly drooling so she could be teething but even when he give her Tylenol, chew toys etc nothing seems so help… she hasn’t slept well in weeks. I don’t know what’s going on with her I feel so bad.… she’s generally such a happy baby.

Completely normal - they go through phases - it shouldnt last long.best of luck mama you are doing a great job just hang in there :black_heart:

Contact nap and sleep together.
6 month sleep regression. Gearing up for a developmental leap and growth spurt.
Even offer more nursing sessions or bottles (whatever feeding method you use)
I wouldn’t give Tylenol, especially with no fevers and no solid reason of to why. It’s not good for children for multiple reasons.
Coconut oil rubbed on the gums helps a lot! EARTHLEY makes a teeth tamer that my friend uses!
Frozen pops!

If 6 months plus all signs of readiness start baby led weaning as well.

Regression is super normal around 6 months.
I’d definitely bring it up to the pediatrician, but as long as baby is eating, having wet diapers, and bowel movements, having a sooner appointment shouldn’t be necessary.
Hang in there, it gets easier.

I’m dealing with this as well with my 1 year old. I think it’s just a phase they go through.

Sounds like sleep regression and/or a mental leap/ growth spurt. If it is, they just take time. It’s rough, but they get back to their normal right about the time you think you’re gonna go insane. Lol

Sleep regression plus teething. The worst combo but it does end. I would incorporate maybe two more activities during the day that may be more physically demanding for the baby so they can tire themselves a little more for sleeping time.

During my sons 6 month I rocked him for 4 hours every night until I was sleep depriving myself even more. I started to keep him awake longer and add activities and it helped shortened this period

Like others have said, sounds like sleep regression. One long nap should be good about this age. If you keep her up too long, she will be restless, you have to find that perfect window. Rubbing her eyes, yawning etc. get a cold washcloth and put in freezer for her to chew on. If she takes a binky, you can soak in a bowl, it’ll fill with water in the nipple, and you can freeze that too. Usually it’s just a phase and they will get passed it.

Please look at the latest research on Tylenol and try to stop giving it for anything such as teething etc. It is proven to be linked to autism and adhd.

Typical sleep regression, they suck but they pass!
