It might be a texture thing. I think if you talked with an OT they might be able to give you some great tips. I only suggest this because you lo is spitting out everything. Minimally babies at least enjoy Apple sauce or a sweet fruit.
I would need more infoā¦ wait a little while longer and possibly get an evaluation. My son ended up having tongue thrust and needing a repair but no one evaluated initiallyā¦ give it a while longer, but consider evaluations for peace of mind. There is one evaluation that is as simple as putting a dab of peanut butter on the top lip. If he uses his tongue to get it off, that is normal. If he tries another way, could indicate an issue. Itās probably nothing, but knowledge is powerā¦
Itās the texture. Heās to young anyway. Choking
Yeah. Donāt force it.
My kid is almost 9 months old and eats half a jar (maybe on a good day) twice a week at daycare. I donāt give it at home he doesnāt want it and he gags and pukes. Heās exclusively breastfed and is a 22lb chunk hitting and exceeding every mile stone. Its important to note there is no one size fits all for babies.
ETA: I do try bits of biscuits (tiny tiny) and pureed home cooked veggies. He has zero desire after 2 bites. But Iām āthat momā that believes food before one is just for fun. In other words, if he does cool if notā¦ Cool
Not all babyās know how to swallow their food at that age. I would wait a little longer. My oldest was like that. š¤·
My twins were the same way I tried for months until finally I just started giving them regular food when when where big/had enough teeth to handle it. They are both small for there age but they are healthy and happy and thatās all that matters.
Ear,nose, throat doctor can help youā¦
i dont think he dislikes its the way little ones use their tongue to swallowā¦they r used to using tongue to suck a bottleā¦its a different technique ā¦my kids all wallered tongue to swallow and llater opened mouth to eat food it takes time for them to figure out technique
Why would you stress your child out over food? If you both end up in tears then you ask yourselfā¦is he really ready at this timeā¦NO! Years ago children did not start solids until 1 year of age. You have plenty time. Enjoy this precious child, put off this stress of feeding try at a later time. There is nothing saying when you are eating you canāt take carrots mash some between your fingers and rub his gums, give him a taste her and there, introduce slowly. You may find that less stressful?
As long as he eats something feed him that try mashing the food up.
Honestly every baby does things in their own time. And if youāre frustrated feeding him he might feel your frustration too. Nothing wrong with giving him baby food another month and then trying as long as heās getting the best nutrition and you and your baby are enjoying each other.
Iāve never had that problem. I have 5 children all started on solids at 4 months. Are you sure heās spitting it out and not just moving his tongue in a way that you think heās spitting it out. Only advice I can give is keep trying with different foods and have patience. Solids are new and they also have to get the hang of it. They will not like everything on the first try. It takes them a couple of tries of each food to adjust, so you have to be consistent.
What happened to pureeing baby food?
Babies donāt need anything but milk their first year. If he isnāt ready then he isnāt ready. Just wait a few weeks and try again. Still doesnāt like it, wait a few more weeks and try again. He doesnāt NEED the solids so why stress him or yourself out over it. Just enjoy bottle/breast feeding and make the most out of every happy moment. They go by too fast to lose it over the little things.
Honestly my first born was like this but by the age of 8-9 months she would rather have table foods, it was a texture thing
Nuby makes a squeeze feeder with a soft bottle like nipple both my babes preferred this to a spoon and honestly soo much more convenient
I have five children and they all started eating when they were ready. Wait until he is watching you eat, say mashed potatoes, he will indicate that he wants to try it. Then give it to him. People saying they have to eat solids started when baby food started to be manufactured. Itās big business. Donāt allow an eating disorder to develop.
Heās notā:clap: ready lol let him go on his timeā¦ If heās a year old not eating food then worry rn let him enjoy his bubbaās
Six months? The child is not ready. The most you can do is tease the food at his mouth until he know when to do the masticating and then swallow action.
Dont offer everything at once. Start with one thing at a time. Give it a few days, then introduce something new. Dont rush and dont stress
Thatās how every baby looks when they are first learning how to eat from a spoon
They donāt need pr have to have solids till a year old. Try finger foods ā¦
Rice cereal mixed with formula and some purƩed food real thin to resemble formula more then thicken as he becomes accustomed
Make your own baby food in blender or whatever. You ever tasted of baby food thatās bought? Awful!! Full of chemicals.
Bit young for solids maybe?
I used fruit to mix in
