My breastfed baby will not take a bottle: Advice?

Sippy cups. My kids never took a bottle.

When I was breastfeeding I got extremely sore nipples and ended up getting some nipple shields, like bottle teats that go over your nipple, for a bit of protection while I healed, but I’m sure they helped the transition to some bottle feeding, sort of a half way, mum’s breast plus a bottle teat. Good luck x

My son is 9 months and refuses a bottle but he will drink juice and water out of a sippy cup with no issue

I use the Mam brand bottles and binkies. It is the closest to a nipple and it has worked for all three of my babies.

I had the exact same problem. The only bottle I could get mine to take was a mam bottle.

Good time to offer breast milk in a sippy cup. Since he is on solids, he could easily start with a sippy cup.

Might have better luck with a soppy cup. Especially if baby has never taken a bottle.

Could try a sippy cup.

Have you tried a MAM bottle?

Make sure you have the correct nipple size, if it’s to small it could be difficult to get milk out of the bottle

Definitely try sippy cup, something different than what you use for his water

Agree with sippy cups. Try a couple of differnt kinds. My daughter really likes the 360 ones. They are more like drinking from a cup then a bottle.

Have u tried leaving and then getting someone else to feed him/ her a bottle. If a breast fed baby smells your milk they most likely wont take a bottle

When my daughter didn’t want to take the bottle, my pediatrician suggested that we try a sippy cup with breastmilk in it. Someone else trying to feed baby while you are not in the same room. At 9 months baby should be eating more and not needing as much milk and i breastfed at night and in the morning. It is hard, took me a whole month to get my little one really drink from a bottle and even then she drank minimum and when she saw me after work she headed straight for my breast lol. Good luck you will find something that works and hopefully before you go back to work.
