I have a 3 year old who hates getting her brushed or getting her hair wet it’s like a world war 3 to try do her hair can I please have some advice on how to wash and brush her hair please. She has curly hair like me.
I have you ever thought about letting her do it and then just got over it my daughters the same way it’s less of a fight if she does it first and then I say I have to go over to make sure
I would put my daughter’s up in a ponytail, and once it was away from her scalp I would spray the ponytail with either detangler, or water. I would hold one hand at the ponytail holder to keep it from pulling and brush out the hair with the other hand. Once the hair that was tied back which normally contained the most tangles was brushed thru then I would let it down and spray detangler on the brush and brush the hair all together.
I have this same problem
My son has curly hair to he hats getting it brushed or washed I let him do my hair while I do his.
Not liking the feel of wet hair or problems brushing hair is common in children that have a sensory processing disorder. The way the brush feels or sounds in the hair or it being wet can frustrate and trigger them. It could be a possibility of why it is such an issue.
