My daughter is getting allergy tested...advice?

So I scheduled my daughter allergy testing she goes jan the 3rd for it I got it scheduled because I am having issues with her and anything dairy or with dairy in it and with peanut butter the peanut butter doesn’t cause a anaphylactic reaction but both cause severe diarrhea. Along with the symptoms she isn’t gaining weight at all she’s 2 and only 23 lbs she will be 3 in august. She also has a reaction to cinnamon so I feel like getting a full allergy test done will help a ton and I can get them to test for the issue with milk but if it comes back it’s not a allergy thing with peanut butter and milk what testing should I have done next Anyone delt with similar? Should I go ahead and get a gi referral as well just to check that box off as well? I want to this issue taken care of so she can get on with a good diet that works for her so we can help her gain weight.

Honestly, I would skip the allergy test and go to GI. Skin testing won’t tell you if she has a tummy sensitivity. If she broke out in hives or has swelling, possible rash I’d say so with an allergist. I work for an allergist and that’s normally what we recommend. My daughter has similar issues and her GI figured it out. She had to use sunbutter and lactose free or dairy free products. The GI will make a food diary with you to track when these issues are happening and tell you what to adjust in her diet. I also took my daughter to a nutritionist to help too.

My son was tiny like that, it seemed like he wouldn’t put on weight. His doctor told me not to worry, some kids take a while to grow- just make sure he’s eating and drinking something healthy every day. I swear one day he woke up and wouldn’t quit eating. He’s 24 and skinny, he also eats healthy most of the time.

Sge could have a food aversion instead of an allergy. I would start by testing things out. Take them individually out of her diet and see what happens.

If she’s getting diarrhea when she eats those it’s probably an intolerance not an allergy. I’m lactose intolerant. My parents were told to take me off certain foods for weeks to see if I improved, they took me off candy, gluten then dairy and that’s when I finally started to get better.
