My daughter is having her tonsils & adenoids taken out on Monday. She is 3 years old. Anyone’s younger little one have this done? Any helpful tips would be great!
Get a humidifier for her room. Just had mine out at 36, was a lifesaver
My kiddo had his taken out at 3, it went soooo smoothly. He was ready to run around almost immediately!! Day 2-4ish he was a bit whiny, as expected!! The hardest part was keeping my little down for a few days! He was back to eating normal food the next day.
I had my son done around that time in his life. His first words were I hate you mom. And I hate peaches. His anesthesiologist used peach drugs to put him out.
Chocolate ice cream and popsicles stay on top of the medication and monitor for abnormal bleeding otherwise god bless her she will come out of this stronger!!
Popsicle! Makes sure you give her the medicine as soon as you can, keep her throat moist. She will snore and her breath will.smell horrible!
My kiddo did. Popsicles are their best friend. I bought the real fruit ones so she wasn’t loaded up on sugar.
Yep one or my kids was one and another was about 2 and half. I just made sure we kept on top of pain meds and lots of ice cream
Yup my son was 2. One huge tip his doctor told me was do Tylenol suppositories because it’ll be easier due to swallowing being painful for a few days. Lots of ice cream, popsicles, jello, pudding, mashed potatoes, or any soft foods is best. Lots of cuddling and snuggling and cartoons.
I had mine out as a kid, Popsicles, jello, mashed potatoes, ice cream, get all very soft things, and cold it better too
Whatever you do, keep her hydrated!! My son was still non verbal when he had to have his taken out and it was extremely hard to convince him to drink. Try to get sips in every 10 minutes.
I second the tylonal suppositories. It was the only way to help him.
Prayers
Rotate between Tylenol and motrin do not skip a dose especially in the first few days even if u gotta wake her up in the night to give it better than her waking up in horrible pain
Popsicles are the best…anything dairy makes phlegm thicker
Patience mommy, some kids is fine other struggle for a day or two, but you got this!
