My daughter refuses to take a bottle...advice?

I’m so stressed out. My daughter is 12wk old and refuses to take a bottle. I’ve tried 10 different types. I’ve tried all different nipple sizes and shapes. I start work tomorrow. Daycare will have her for 2.5 hrs and then she’ll be with my mom until 5:30pm but I work until 7 so my SO will have her. if they can’t get her to take a bottle though then I’ll have to leave. I love my job and I have crazy good benefits. I wasn’t planning on leaving and I can’t afford to stay home.

I’ve learned my kid is better for other people than he is for me. I’m sure baby will be fine.

Let someone else give her a bottle. Mine wouldn’t take one from me, but would from others… breastfed baby.

Try not to stress too much. I know that sounds silly and absurd, but when you’re not around that baby and she gets hungry. I promise she will take that bottle from somebody else just breathe momma everything always works out!

Have you tried your SO feeding her and you leaving the room?

I have worked in childcare for 10 years, all in an infant classroom. I have noticed many many times baby will not take a bottle from mom but will from someone else. Give it time! Try different bottles at preschool. Baby won’t go hungry she will just eat more when you are around. Have dad or grandma they to give baby a bottle when you aren’t around, also have them hold one of your shirts or blanket you use.

Continuation of comment above…
Try wearing Mom’s un laundered shirt while bottle feeding…Child will not take bottle for someone else if Mom is within sight or hearing…:pray::four_leaf_clover:

Maybe she is tongue tied. I was I had to have my tongue clipped.

Might try scolding the breast milk, my niece wouldn’t take a bottle finally figured out it was something with the milk, that scalding it took care of.

Some times if you are breast feeding them and you try a bottle they will not take it from you because they can smell your milk . Ge some one else to try her with the bottle .

My girls were the same way. They would take between 3-10oz (usually on the lower end)during the day at daycare. What ended up happening is called reverse cycling. They ate a lot overnight, before daycare, and in the evenings then they just didn’t take much during the day. It was rough but we all got through it . Yes I tried a bunch of bottles, having others do the feeding, different places, different positions, spoke to a lactation consultant, etc.

My son wouldn’t take a bottle from 14 weeks
I had to make formula up amd pit him on solids only way i could get the milk in.

The bottle nipple might be too hard compared to yours, my son is breast and bottle fed and the como tomo bottle worked wonders for him when we had this issue

NUK was only bottle my breastfeed baby took! It gets frustrating but try have someone else feed her and leave the room or try find a nipple that similar to yours!

Had husband tried to give her bottle she may not want bottle cuz she smells you

Do they still make breast flow bottles closes thing to a nipple was for my daughter and and dip you milk and she thought it was me

Nuk was the only bottle that my breast fed baby would take

Try laying her on her side, with her back to your belly. Just went through this with my baby. Dr.Browns are the bottle we use

Little bit of corn syrup on the nipple

My son’s Dad had to give him the bottle. If I was holding him, he wanted to nurse. I’m sure once in daycare and with Grandma, the bottle will not be an issue.

I use a medicine cup and cup feed.

Is she breastfeed? My daughter was breastfeed and wouldn’t take a bottle at first either. I ended up using slow flow preemie nipples and Dr brown bottles and made sure who ever was bottle feeding her was doing the pace feeding method and it worked!!!

Shell take it if hungry. She may not want it because either you’re in the room or she won’t want it from you.

Make sure milk is warm enough when heated for the bottle. Give them a chance for a few days to try. My son refused until they heated his milk warmer then he took it like a champ.

My one year old still refuses a bottle tried everything as well. Maybe your mum could take your daughter to work so you can fed your child? Or use a syringe to feed her

I was quite lucky cause i work at tge day care center that my daughter gose to and still breast feeding and work has been very good and allowing me to fed her not that she feeds much anymore.
