My daughters sleep schedule is backwards: Advice?

HELP tired mom here and don’t know what to do. The daughters’ sleep schedule is backward. Like a vampire. Sleeps all day stays up all night due to medicine she was previously on. It’s going to bed at 6 am and waking up at 5 pm. Today she went to bed at 7 am, and I woke her up at 2. (Per pediatrician, to start decreasing the hrs slowing) . She’s falling asleep sitting up, wherever she can—not wanting to eat until later at night. I need some helpful tips please, to get things back on track!!! I’ve tried waking her up early twice before and same thing.

Try to keep her awake as much as you can during the day, take her outside, take her for walks. anything that will keep her attention and keep her awake do it. It’ll take a lot of dedication for a few days but it’ll change!! Keep your rooms brightly lit during the day, and dark and quiet at night. Even if that means blaring music to keep her awake and dance with her.

My daughter had the same problem when she was a newborn all the until she was 18 months. And then I took naps away and she went to bed at night easier. I just woke her up about an hour earlier each day and when nap time came I would make sure she wasn’t just sitting around… fast forward a couple years and I noticed that she would fight sleep like unusual like I could wake her up at 6 am and at 9 pm she would lay down but wouldn’t fall asleep until 11-midnight (she had always been like that) then when she was 7 or so I started giving her melatonin and BAM sleep every night no problem… she is 9 now. But if it wasn’t for melatonin she would be so ass backwards with sleep.

We had lots of success with keeping baby out in the sunlight as much as possible during the day, it helps naturally reset their system

The only way mine got her schedule together was when she started going to daycare . Woke her up super early that one first day and then slept through the night

My oldest was like that too. I’d keep her busy as much as possible during the day and take a nap when she did.

Force them to stay up the entire day intill bed time and that will reset the schedule if she falls asleep during 6 pm she will sleep till 6 am full 12 hours of sleep.

It may be stressful but keep her up all day no matter what with maybe a small nap during the day. My mom had the same issue with me when I was young she only had to keep me up all day once and I was basically back on track with my sleep.

Not much advice on how to reverse but I know any schedule change has to be completely consistent for atleast a week sometime two before its “natural” to them. Good luck!

I don’t really know what to do. But try taking her out on a walk in the day time so she can get some air. And try to have her engage in some activities that may get her attention. Good luck.

It will all change in teenage years x
