Well technically passenger is in charge of the radio on road trips so you control the radio he just drives

I blast my tunes when driving and I keep my window open the whole drive it keeps me awake. My daughter just wears headphones if for any reason she doesn’t wanna listen to it.

If you struggle with how your husband deals with staying alert it might be best to just take headphones or ear plugs. Then it protects your hearing and doesn’t affect your headaches either.

Get head phones for you and your child. He will probably end up wearing hearing aid’s and expect you to feel sorry for him. I would say told you not to have the music so loud and walk away.
Sorry but driver takes precedent on trips. That’s the person with lives in their hands.

I get the need for loud music while driving and I get suffering from migraines. What I don’t get, however, is him turning it UP more just to be an ass after you said it was too loud. That’s unacceptable and inconsiderate behavior IMO.

everyone missed the point of his attitude. He was childish and rude to his wife and right in front of the kids!! She was mad at that!!! The way he reacted!!! And he was totally and unjustified!

He’s ignorant and I wouldn’t go on any trips in a car with him. I would have divorced him by now.
I would’ve started bashing shit into the the damn stereo till he turned it down. Sometimes you gotta go a little psycho for them to take you seriously. DONT take that shit from anyone.
Whole his communication is not good he is the one doing all the driving. Have you tried meeting him half way? Coukd headphones work for you since it’s not legal for him to wear both in his ears?
He’s an ass. Simple as that. If he knows you have migraines plus your daughter . He’s simple an ass. But im assuming this isn’t the only crap he pulls.
I get wanting to have loud music that’s me ! 
But I also will consider others especially if my music would cause them pain.
Yeah you could get noise canceling headphones but that won’t solve the major issue.

In studios its better to individualize the sound rather than flood the room with it, it would be much more logical for him to wear the phones to get his “jam’s” on than saturate the environment and expect everyone to use dampening, the technical term for that is “dick move dude”

Seriously? Buy headphones or earplugs. Why should he not be allowed to listen to music at the level he wants, or you complain? Your feelings aren’t what everything in life is based on. You can get ear plugs. And before you say, it won’t work. People use ear plugs for shooting guns, and many other things that are so loud, it can literally damage your eardrum. With the ear plugs. All is well. Get some. Stop complaining. If have an attitude, too, if you complain about loud music, when you can do things to be comfortabke while he listens to his music. But I bet you yell when you’re mad.

Road hypnosis is a real thing especially at distance and especially in the evening time.
Thats not even considering if he was exhausted and trying to stay awake while focusing on the road.
Loud upbeat music often helps with both.
I have personally depended on it when driving to and from work at odd hours.
If that’s the case, he should be explaining it (although it’s possible he may not really know how to explain it) and you should be more understanding.
If he’s just doing it to be petulant that’s a different story.
I would sit down with him and have a real conversation…Be ready to really listen and hear him out.
While your comfort and your child’s comfort is important so is driving safely.
If music helps him accomplish that then yes, you need to find some kind of work around.
And him wearing headphones and listening that loud while driving is probably not the solution because then he cannot hear you guys or anything going on around him.
(I’ve tried headphones while driving and it made me way too distracted and essentially took away one of my senses that I honestly depend on the most)
