My daughter went through a withdrawal phase. So I sat her down and told her that I loved her and asked her to pick one thing that could be just for us. She picked watching Grey’s anatomy but we do it even though I’ve seen every episode we make popcorn and take over the living room it’s just us.

You don’t, he does it. Kids will only give as good as they get and then teen years hit and they become mongrels 
but you can still changeup what you do to stay involved but not so much thay you lose your level of respect and dignity.

When did the disrespect start?
I know I nearly lost my mum when I was w years old due to surgery and for about 5 years after I wouldnt want to be left alone with her, I was almost scared if her and I’m now 31 and we have the closest relationship. It could be that they are worried that something might happen if they do something with him.
Actually sometimes kids just are like that because they see someone all the time. Maybe they need space.
Depends on the situation yes kids should respect their parents but if the parents disrespect them or abuse them for example do you think they should respect their parent? Kids also learn from parents and other people if they disrespect other it make the kids think it’s ok to do so. Teaching kids is be setting an example yourself. my opinion.
