We went through a similar situation a few years back… what we did was met at a public place and I changed my som out of any clothing he wore from his fathers house and made him take the clothing back.
I refused to send anything to his house and refused to take anything from his house.

Change their clothes before entering the house, don’t bring in any bags they packed and then take the stuff to the laundry mat

I mean I don’t know if your aware but bed bugs can come from anywhere doesn’t have to be dirty. My friend bought a brand new mattress from the store when they got it to her house it was still in plastic guess what bed bugs crawling all over it. Best thing to do is if you bring clothes back with him go straight to laundry mate throw everything in the dryer first heat kills them then wash the clothes regularly. I know I work at a hotel for yrs. Also if your worried about your house use 90% rubbing and spray everything in your house as in baseboards on curtains, carpets your beds anything thing they can get on. I would probably throw stuff animals away or wash them like the clothes. For anyone who thinks I’m crazy on the rubbing alcohol the spraying company who come out admitted that is what they use when they come out in case any of us ever took them home. Luckily we didn’t take them home.

You can withhold them for that reason

This happened to me. I stopped allowing him to go until dad provided proof of treatment and I had to get spray from the co-op to treat my house. Nothing from the regular stores worked. Even the bed bug spray. You also have to be extremely diligent treating. I sprayed it down at least 2x a day. Took about 2 weeks but I finally got rid of them.

Get a garment steamer from Walmart.steam your whole bedroom.top to bottom bed to.wash all clothes then putt into dryer.chande all clothes and wash.

Can you not go through the court and withhold them for that reason?

Key word “thinks”. Just because a place isn’t up to your standards of clean doesn’t mean that it has bed bugs. You need proof not just a assumption to with hold visitation

Bed bugs have zero to do with cleanliness. How do you know he has them?

When I worked in property management, our pest control guy who frequently serviced our units for bed bugs, told me when he gets home he undresses in the garage fully and immediately places clothes in dryer on high heat. Heat kills them.

You could contact department of children and families…they will inspect and will only allow the child to go back once issue had been resolved. When I worked for DCF, a home had roach infestation. We monitored the home for roaches and only allowed the children back once issue was resolved.

You could also tell your ex you are willing to help financially with the bed bug treatment.

I made my stepson strip outside and take a shower before he even stepped foot in the house…never got them

Get a spray bottle, fill it with rubbing alcohol and spray on clothes in the shed or garage before entering the house. The alcohol will kill them. Spray the beds everynight for 2 weeks. I just hate bedbugs…hard to get rid of.

You women will do anything to get out of a court order.:woman_facepalming:. Bed bugs don’t mean they came from him and definitely doesn’t mean his house is dirty. Find a new way out of the court ordered parenting time that actually puts the kids at risk before trying to hold yourself in contempt :woman_facepalming:

If you read up on them… bed bugs like clean, same with lice…

As it’s court ordered
The best advice is to seek legal advice
From your solicitor

If you dont have them send kids straight to batg when they get home and put clothes directly to washer, dry with high heat. They are almost impossible to get rid of of you get them.

If bd has them, more than likely you do, too!

Modify the order take him back to court and make it so that he has to treat the problem if he wants to continue to have his kids

How do you know it’s from his place…could be yours and your kids are taking them over there.

The cleanest person can get them. They don’t discriminate

Cleanest places has bedbugs nothing to do with being dirty . im sure your kids go to other places as well. You guessing it came from there because he is your ex.
They could of came from next door or a family member house or your child playing with a child that had them on their clothes.
Fact is now you think you got them. What are you doing to keep from you spreading them to your friends

Call dhr they will not be okay with it

I have 4 kids and just got out of an apartment building infested with them - fight tooth and nail to not let them go back there until it’s professionally treated. TRUST ME. Dm me if you want.
