Let her stew in her own juices. That is an old Expression for let her learn her lesson not to take people for granted or she will lose them. She sounds spoiled. Christmas is about family being together not presents.

Sorry but she sounds a little selfish. I would stick to my guns. Every mother in law I know would love a DIL like you. I wouldn’t take it personal because she sounds like she is just unhappy and you can’t find her happy she has too
