They cant just up and decide they want your kids and take them. A lawyer is having them waste alot of money for nothing.
Time to move? Seems they are toxic in a passive aggressive way.
Are you 100 percent certain they will not take off with the kids?
Are they able to pick the kids up at school? (Are they on the school list)
Are the kids in the loop that there are some ‘grown up things’ that need to be worked thru before they can visit again?!?

We had a similar issue where luckily we were warned that another family member was about to pick up my kiddo and take off!
