just wondering if any other mom’s deal with a significant other with a head injury?? How do you do it?? My husband has a head injury and is very mean. He just constantly snaps than forgets about it. It’s kinda becoming too much to deal with. But I’m doing my best to hang in there.
No advice, I’m just really sorry
My husband had a stroke 2 years ago. I suggest a local group to talk to or counselling. Head injuries are very hard to deal with. It doesn’t get easier…however you learn how to live and cope and pray.
Ask him to seek help, and stay safe
Ask about a service or therapy dog. My husband has ptsd and our dog has really helped. Even wakes him up if he is having nightmares
Yes. My husband has a TBI that was undiagnosed for FIVE years at the VA Hospital.
Change of personality, short tempered, easily overwhelmed, forgetfulness, vision loss, migraines, etc. All associated with a head injury.
Firstly, do you feel safe?
Is he a Soldier or Veteran?
Can you get him to a Dr?
Ask the doctor if a mood stabilizer would help with his type of injury and retrain yourself to become more patient with him Chronic illness is never easy for the person or the family And yes a service or emotional support dog may help alot
