My son is 10 and recently told me he’s gay. His dad barely sees him and has expressed homophobic sentiments in the past. I can tell my son wants to be open with his life and would like to tell his father but also recognizes that his father might not want to see him at all.
I want my son to live openly and proudly but I also understand that telling his father could lead to him never seeing him. Having said that, not seeing him might be the healthiest option but my son loves his father.
I feel like there are no “right” answers here but I welcome all advice.
