Just in need of some advice. I have a 6 year old. 7 in January. He’s having a hard time with nighttime peeing. It is an every night thing. I’ve cut off liquids and potty before bed. Idk what else to do. He’s lazy and doesn’t care about peeing himself. He sat on the couch watching a t.v show and flat out said I just peed (wasn’t much and made him go use the bathroom). He has said before he hates having to go to use the bathroom all the time. Any advice?
Turn his tv off the next time he does that
Mine are 10 and still having this problem. It’s gotten a tad better, but not much. I’m kind of at my wits end tbh
One of my kids was such a solid sleeper that he just would not wake up to pee. He peed until he was 12. I have no liquids after 6 pm and it never workes
Make sure you rule out constipation. That can cause peeing issues. My daughter was waiting until last possible minute and I thought she was just being lazy and didn’t want to stop what she was doing. She saw a specialist and it turned out she was constipated but she showed no other signs. She also was mainly wetting at night
I would wake my kids up and take them to the bathroom.
Set a pee alarm and make him get up and pee, and when he blatantly pees watching TV he’d be getting disciplined with no TV.
I have learned that this is not uncommon; especially with boys. Let him sleep in goodnights underwear or buy disposable bed pads for him to sleep on. A friend was told by a urologist that her son would most likely outgrow it by the time he hits puberty. If it’s only happening at night, I wouldn’t be too concerned about it
Make him clean it all
Up - make it a JOB . He can wash the sheets and clothes and scrub the floor etc . Make it hard . Clean the bathroom . I bet he will run to the potty after a few times if That .
Now
If this happened during his sleep ,

Help
That - make him wear pull ups

So
I have a trick at night time that might help…I dont know if you have a mattress protector on the mattress, if so put it over top of the bed sheet. If not cut open a garbage bag lay it over top of the sheet. When he pees, instead of the bed or sheets soaking it up, his body will. He might not like that as much. My son hated it, especially cuz I made him shower at 2am. Also I agree with anyone in here saying have him clean it up. Make him strip his bed. Make him wash his pee filled stuff. Don’t let him sit on the couches. Make it super unjoyable so it might click into him that he doesn’t want to be doing that work all the time. That it’s more work if he pees himself than if he were to just go to the bathroom.
Then that kid would not be allowed on the couch, and would have to clean up his own mess every single time. Add on no tablet time no TV time, anything he considers fun would be taken away until he can get his shit together.
Maybe should see pediatrician just to rule out any physical problems
