Time for a toddler bed when this happens

My daughter did this, on purpose also, I moved her to a toddler bed, baby proofed her room and out a baby gate in her doorway

Pool noodles around the slats will work

I’m not sure if this will help and I’ve never been a smoker… but when my mom was trying to quit, any time she’d want one, she’d suck on a piece of sugar free candy. The hard ones do they last longer. Eventually it got easier and easier for her.

Toddler bed. Or even just a mattress on the floor.

Put a fitted sheet under mattress and up the side

Lock on the door or strong gate and mattress on the floor

Montessori style sleeping mattress on the floor in the middle of the room this will help with walking and crawling babies also if they roll off they can’t get hurt it might startle them but they’re okay and baby gate in the doorway to keep him from wandering the house

F*uck him beside ye  honestly

Toddler bed… Both my kids were in toddler beds by a year old.

I had to switch my little guy at 6/7 months into a pack and play for reasons that include this. He also used to toss and turn hard and rammed the rails so that seemed the best option due to soft sides. Wasted money on a nice crib. Maybe that’s an option?! We just bought a pack and play mattress!

His age would help… If he’s old enough to do all that it sounds like he’s probably ready for a toddler bed.

Em let him learn as long as he’s not hurting himself he’s fine xx

Sleep sack or mesh crib bumpers(don’t come for me they’re breathable and much safer than tradition bumpers). My son was a pro at getting stuck so we used both of those and it fixed the problem asap

You could use a pack n play. They sell thicker mattresses for sleeping in it.

Toddler bed or get a playpen instead

Time to ditch the crib. I skipped a crib with both my kids. Put the mattress on the floor and baby proof the room.

I’d go straight to a twin bed and put either a bed rail or you can put a pool noodle under the bottom sheet. That’s what I did with my son

When my eldest did this I made some diy Wonder Bumpers (like verticals bumper) but you can also dress him in sleep sacks so he can’t get his foot far enough in to get stuck

Pack in play. Or just move him to a big boy bed. Mattress on the floor.

We have to use a playpen. Got a great mattress for it and no more smashing faces on boards lol

Maybe try pool noodles on the bars so his legs cant get stuck :woman_shrugging:

depending on age, get him a regular bed or put a mattress on the floor.

Pack n play would be safer for him cause if he keeps doing that with putting his legs thru he could accidentally break one and the mom guilt will eat you away.

My son did this I let him sit there and ask him now how are you gonna get out? You got yourself in there now get out.

Some. As you said will do on purpose for attention. If I pretend I’m stuck mom will pick me up. Modern cribs can’t get head stuck. So

The only thing I can think of is to put cloth tight against the inside of the bars ???

Get him a big boy bed

My girls were in toddler beds at around a year old with a gate across the door and a baby monitor because their room was on the second floor.

Your son is telling you he don’t like his crib anymore, Remove the sliding part or keep it down and use it as a day bed from now on. Add a mattress topper and have a foot stool for easy access for him… I did the same thing once my daughter started doing that.

Maybe try a piece of Cardboard in-between the mattress and crib bars?

They have toddler beds that have solid rails on them so they can’t fall out. Both my kids were in toddler beds like this by one.

It’s sounds harsh but I had to let my so learn the hard way after he did it so much. Like I was going in 3-4 times at bed time to help him then he would melt down bc I left him. Then I did tough love…I would wait until he fell asleep then very gently move his legs. He was only like 9 or 10 months so a big boy bed definitely wasn’t an option. After a few times of being “stuck and mommy not saving him” he stopped putting his legs in there. Of course I monitored him on his camera to make sure he wasn’t in danger while he was stuck.

My son would climb out of his crib and take a head first dive to the floor when he was about 1…we did a pack and play but he started climbing that a d knocking it over too so then we had to put a crib mattress on the floor literally for his safety until he got a little bigger and would be safe in a toddler bed.

Depending on how old he is it may be time to ditch the crib.

We had this issue with my daughter her legs got stuck multiple times so I took one of our flat sheets for our bed and weaved it in and out of the crib the whole way around and never had an issue after that wasn’t the prettiest but it got the job done

HE might be ready for a big boy bed.

Time for a toddler bed…

Both my daughters were in single beds by one years old. I didn’t mess with a toddler bed. I put one side up against the wall and the open side had one of those bed rails on it so they didn’t fall out. They always sleep good

  1. Let them learn the hard way.
  2. You can get mesh covers that will go up the crib sides, you put them on the inside of the crib and that should stop the legs from going through.

Depends on age. Toddler bed or pack n play

Toddler bed with the net siding is what I would do.

How old is he? Swaddle If at that age, or time for toddler bed if at that age as well. If all else fails you can duct tape his feet to the mattress.:joy::smirk: J/k

My son’s crib is a solid back piece (the part against the wall) if your son’s is like that turn the crib around and have the bars against the wall. Otherwise I bought mesh crib “bumpers” and put those on and they work. They’re mesh so he won’t suffocate

He don’t like to be in the crib only put him there to sleep my did not Like being in the crib as soon as he fell asleep on the bed I pick him put him in the crib once he woke up and realized he was in the crib he started screaming my daughter had no problem she be in the crib all day playing with her toys

Toddler bed if to small use. Pack n play

Get some mesh from Lowes or Home Depot get the one with the smallest holes.maybe staple it to the underside of the crib. Also someone mentioned weaving it in and out the bars of the crib.Good luck Momma you got this

A porta-crib or playpen with mesh sides could work for you.

Bumper pads work pretty good

When my oldest was a baby he did this. I sewed ribbon to the bottom of bumpers so he couldn’t get his leg in.

You didn’t say how old he is. If he’s still too young for a toddler bed, you may want to have him sleep in a pack and play. Otherwise, it may be safer to graduate him to a toddler bed.

Put him in a gro-bag to sleep.

I never used a crib, I used a playpen, never had the issues of the bars, and they sit closer to the floor for if the child tries to climb out. Once they started climbing out, they had toddler beds

I moved my kid to a toddler bed when she started that.
