Needing advice on buying shoes for a toddler with wide feet

Looking for advise on purchasing shoes for a boy that has wide feet. He is 2 and every time I try to purchase a pair of shoes they just don’t seam like they are wide enough. Anyone know of a good quality shoe they would recommend?

Look to see if u have a Stride Rite in your area or online. That’s where we went for our daughter when she was a toddler A lil more expsensive but necessary👍

Try stride rite for sure! I had the same problem and they were great. Also Crocs for summer

I always had good luck finding new balance in the wide size for toddlers

Avoid crocs because they’re gross and damaging! Natives and stride right, also adidas come in wide sizes or keens adjustables!

Stride Rite always had the right fit for my grandsons wide feet

My sister always went with stride right they should have a website

Yes stride right the Buster Brown shoe shops were great but not much around any longer

Burlington coat factory

My son had very wide feet as a toddler so I would have to buy him skate boarding shoes such as DC’s or etnies or Van’s. They would be the only ones that fit his fat little feet lol

Have him stand on cardboard. Trace around his bare foot with a marker. Cut out the foot pattern and slip it into different shoes you like. Check to see how the pattern fits into the shoe, any bending of the pattern tells you right away if they are the right size and if they are wide enough.

Stride Rite…if they still make them.

Crocs are great for wide feet. And stride rite as well

Payless has smart foot or smart step they make wide shoes for toddler. Otherwise buster browns would be the best bet

I always bought stride rite brand they have multiple wide sizes. Try to find a store

New Balance and Stride Rite.

Any decent shoe shop will do a measure and fit.

I found Nike’s were wider.

Plae shoes. They are 40% off site wide right now too.

Sketchers have wide width

New balance is great for that!

New balance has good support and a couple styles that offer extra wide. My son can only wear new balance extra wide! Nike is a narrow shoe according to the fitting place I took my son, so even their “wide” isn’t really as wide as you would need for someone with truly wide feet/high instep

Just make sure they have good support

Vans my kids both have very wide feet Vans are a good fit for both of them.

Now that it’s summer you can just get the Velcro sandals

No advice, but would like to say that I just read this as “Needing advice on buying shoes for a toddler with feet.” …yupp, that sums up my day.

We got my kiddo wide shoes from Payless but they are no longer open. maybe google wide toddler shoes, it should list places.

My daughter has fat feet lol and I’ve been able to buy Nike or Jordan for her and they fit well

Stride right is great they fit my guy perfect

Dc shoes fit wide as well

My son has wide feet I can only buy shoes like this for him…sandals are in the comment.

Oddly, (& thankfully) Walmart often has wide shoes … worth a try! They grow sooooo fast!

New Balance sells extra wide shoes for little ones. Our 2 year old son has cerebral palsy and wears a leg brace on his left leg/foot. The only shoes we could find that are wide enough are the extra wide.

Try skateboarding shoes (vans/dcs/) I have wide feet and so does my daughter and those work best for us

My 5YO son has wide feet and he will only wear the slip on Jordan’s or his slip on Crocs for the past 3 years :woman_shrugging:t3::woman_facepalming:t3:

New balance and stride rite have extra wides

A shoe store associate told me new balance and Reebok run wide. I have to get the Velcro so it’s easier to get them on and off.

my boys have wide feet too I order from stride rite

See Kai Run. They have a wide toe box throughout. They even fit my son’s orthotics. Look at the clearance section to find shoes half off.

I always got my son shoes from Stride Rite. They are sturdy and come in all widths and sizes for toddlers/kids. He varied from a wide to an extra wide as a toddler

Crocs my child is 7 and that’s all he really wears and loves them

Walmart… mine is 2 with wide feet as well

Been there shopped at Buster Brown

Barefoot shoes are best for feet–Splay looks like a good brand.

Stride rite have always been my go to for my son’s shoes!

My little guy is 6 and still has wide feet. The only shoes he could wear were the converse with two velcro straps across so it could be wide enough to slip his foot in. They dont make them in big kid sizes so we will have to fo more searching in the fall for a shoes that works for him.

Stride Rite–they have a good selection and they are good quality.

My poor kid has fat feet. :joy::joy: we’ve tried EVERY SHOE and the only ones that fit are a certain brand at Walmart. She’s had the same shoes in about 5 different sizes.

Red’s shoe barn in plastow has wide sizes for children great place

Some stores like stride rite make W sizes for toddlers!

My little boy is the same he is a H width and I tried start rite on line and were delivered they were perfect

Payless shoe source always sells toddler and kids shoes in wide. that’s the only place I’ve successfully found them
