I need suggestions for goodie bags suitable for children aged 10 and above, as I’m hosting a Minecraft themed party for my eldest’s 5th birthday and have invited a diverse group of guests, including the entire pre-k class and their families, as well as our relatives and friends. I’ve already prepared sensory kinetic sand jars for the younger children, but I’m unsure what to provide for the older kids, seeking alternatives to candy and inexpensive toys that may break easily.
Holy hell that’s a lot of people… With so many people, it’s hard to find something everyone will like. I’d go to dollar tree and opt for candy and they literally have a section for party favors. I like going all out too but the key to doing that is a smaller guest list so it’s easier to customize everything
Look on Pinterest, type in Minecraft, loads of recipes and ideas Minecraft themed. How nice of you to invite families!
That is a lot of people .
When my daughter was little I always got a piñata for the little ones and goodie bags for the biggest,I made for girls and boys
For the girls I buy like a lip gloss , fake nails , hair accessories
For the boys I buy cars , little puzzles, little Lego sets box . And of course candies .
I buy everything from the dollar tree.
We also do games and the winners win prizes ( toys from Walmart ) but , I buy them from the clearance section
Please don’t gender stuff! The sadness of the little girls who didn’t get a car or the boy who loves painting his nails. I don’t think sibs over 12 would expect a goodie bag at a little kids party. Maybe let them have a lucky dip instead? Novelty pencil sharpeners, nice stationery items, Lego sets, lip glosses or balms, mini nail varnish sets. You could then wrap the items in certain colours of paper if you wanted. Purple for the more feminine items, green for anything particularly masculine and red for anything else. Then the kids have autonomy over what they choose.
How about little paint by numbers kits or some other small art project or puzzle?
Check out Oriental trading company… They have lots of fun items for good price
Party stores like Party City or Amazon for bulk toys - I know you don’t want them to break easy but let’s be honest, those toys bags get played with in the car for about 10 minutes if that and then get tossed or forgotten about. You can do mini play doughs, fidget toys, crayons and coloring books, etc.
You’d be surprised how many older kids still love play doh and kinetic sand, etc. I agree with having a treasure chest type thing where everyone can just pick something they like. That also helps to get a little better quality stuff since it’s one per kid vs a baggie with several items each. The kids get to choose, it can fit the theme easily, and you can still have some candy and cheaper items mixed with diverse things. No matter the age you may be giving a kid something they can’t have so letting them choose helps everyone
